So Diana Taurasi gets her record-breaking medal, which seems to be the most important thing for the people who run USA basketball. Hopefully the final shows them that the rest of the World is improving so they can no longer waste roster spots on past it veterans.

The issue wasn't that the team would lose without Caitlin. Caitlin is the most popular player as well as Olympic caliber and would have brought easily twice as many viewers to the womens game. At the end of the day the women did not increase viewership. Caitlin would have helped do that
