1812 Overture with Russian Chorus

About 50 years ago, I participated in a performance of this work. I was singing with the Cerritos College community chorus. We accompanied the La Mirada California Community Orchestra. ‘One of my great musical experiences.

This woman conductor, Ms Nishimoto is fabulous, simply magnificent and charismatic and such sturdy confidence, effortlessly moving through the piece with flair and consistency. An unforgettable performance. And the mystical depth and spiritual ambiance of the style and the environs along with the delivery, too, is beautiful..I greatly enjoyed this performance.

What a fantastic conductor!!!!! I've watched this video 5 times and can't get enough. Ms Nishimoto is so charismatic, energetic, precise, and my favorite, shows emotion. The fact that she's beautiful is a bonus.

Russian chorale music has that deep bass that makes it distinctively masculine. Their liturgical music reflects this as well.

I was a music major in collage and have never heard this piece done better. I absolutely love this conductor!! If this doesn't give you goose bumps or move you in some way, check your pulse, you might be dead.

I had to watch this video again. It’s such a beautiful piece of music and how Ms Tomomi gets the maximum out of these first class musicians is, well, breathtaking.

EXTRAORDINÁRIO !... 1812 FOI UM DOS PRIMEIROS DISCOS QUE COMPREI, QUANDO AINDA JOVEM, OBRA QUE NÃO ME CANSO DE ESCUTAR. E NESTA INTERPRETAÇÃO MARAVILHOSA QUEM PODE DEIXAR DE SE DELICIAR ?!... PARABENS À MAESTRINA PELA SUA IMPECÁVEL CONDUÇÃO !!!

Maravilloso, increible, apoteósico, sublime, magistral...no se cuántos adjetivos más podría añadir a la magnífica dirección de Tomomi Nishimoto...me parecía imposible que una directora japonesa pudiera meterse dentro del alma de la música de Tchaikovskiy pero no solo eso, sino que su perfecta dirección marcando los tiempos y entradas de los diferentes instrumentos en los momentos claves, hacen todavía sino resaltar mucho más la inmensa belleza de esta Overtura y enfretándose nada menos que a la Sinfónica del Teatro Bolshoi...he podido disfrutar de unos momentos más maravillosos de mi vida oyendo esta interpretación. Bien por Tomomi Nishimoto, Bien por la orquesta y un delirio oir siempre la música sublime de Tchaikovskiy...

Interesting demographic..an accomplished Japanese woman conductor helps to convey the message of one of the greatest classical pieces from the heart of the nation whose composer created it...with such vigour , veracity and volume and depth!!

Oh my dog, that is one of the most mesmerizing performances I have ever seen....no, it is the most mesmerizing, absolutely brilliant. And what a conductor...just wow!!!! I have never seen a conductor so expressive as her. Just WOW again!!!!!
