My DNA test came back positive. I definitely have DNA.

I literally bought one of these for 180 fecking euros to find out Iā€™m 100% Irish
  • My father was abandoned at age 2. He grew up in foster care, and knew nothing about himself. I wish that DNA testing had been available for him. I'm glad you took the test and that it was reassuring for you! Live long and prosper!
  • I can respect that she didnā€™t say ā€œwhere is my Mexican side?ā€ Iā€™ve seen so many videos of Hispanic people saying ā€œwhere is my Mexican? Or Puerto Rican?ā€ Like, come on man, us Hispanics are mixed. Centuries of mixing made it normal to us to the point that we donā€™t really think about it

I did a DNA test and found out my dad was adopted (he didnā€™t know, heā€™s almost 70) and he has half siblings. My grandma was adopted, which she knew, but has discovered she has about 11 siblings!

I took a DNA test last January with AncestryDNA because I too was interested about my ancestors. The thing about Ancestry DNA is they connect you with relatives you match with. My mother never knew who her father was, well, my DNA results matched me with a woman that turned out to be my aunt, we connected and the history all fit too well because her father was US Military stationed in Germany. My mother and my newfound aunt started chatting as well, then my mom took a DNA test as well and it connected the both of them as sisters. Last month my family got together and met our new long-lost family. Now I got new uncles, a new aunt, and some new cousins.

I donā€™t think Batman knew about his heritage. Therefore youā€™re better than Batman.

I did the 23andME DNA test and found two 1st cousins, the name of my father and a possible brother. Also found that my father had as much as 35 other kids.
  • Echo, I love your light-hearted reflection on your DNA findings. My great-maternal grandfather was an orphan, according to family reports. They talked about the 'orphan train's of the 1800s, in which the hungry, impoverished eastern U.S. families would put their children on board trains. Farm families along the train routes would check these little children out and adopt the ones that looked healthy enough to pitch in with the farm work.

Guys! Itā€™s close to her bday! Happy Bday Echo!
  • I loved 23andme especially being adopted. I was matched as 98% Russian and found the tribe I came from - The Nenets from the Arkhangelsk region. My maternal haplogroup was Saami origin and they settled in Northern Scandinavia (I'm not Scandinavian at all), but we are Nenet of Russia. Both Nenets and Saami are reindeer herders of the arctic! :) Really cool what you can find!
  • Great video. Thank you for sharing your DNA story. I am a DNA fanatic and have got everyone in my family to take tests! Personally, I think everyone should take a DNA test and then we could see - that science thing - that we are all such a blend of people from all over anyway. We should celebrate that! Your an amazing woman - very brave - well done!
  • No idea who you are or what kind of content you make, this showed up in my feed for some reason (probably because I've been procrastinating and watching whatever youtube throws at me). You seem very sweet and relatable, that is all. Have a nice day people.
  • Your parents would be so proud of who you are today. Keep it up! :)

Glad to see that you have a good attitude about your family history šŸ‘. So many who do this are all hysterical about what they find out but you have a sweet attitude! Good on you šŸ˜˜
