Aquatic Dumbbells: amzn.to/3Wla7mh

Swimming and other forms of aquatic movement are not only excellent forms of cardiovascular exercise and strength development, but also incredible catalysts for mental and emotional health changes. Though not all of these changes are well understood, they are still well documented. It is possible that these changes may have something to do with an innate human affinity for the water. A biological theory known as the "aquatic ape theory" or the "waterside hypothesis" has long been espoused by some in the academic community as a potential explanation for not only human affinity for coastal communities and water, but also as an explanation for certain biological traits seen in humans and other aquatic mammals, but not seen in the other great apes.

When i turned 50 I turned to swimming to keep moving after rheumatoid arthritis began to take its toll on my regular weights and martial arts routine. Swimming in ice cold water or the ocean in the winter has improved my health & overall joint pain immensely. Swimming can also be a great zen gateway for learning to meditate as it can focus your breathing when that ice cold burn hits you during the swim.
  • A Water Samurai has to be the most badass things I’ve ever heard of in a long time
  • Hell yeah brother I've been meaning to join my local aquatic centre. The way you present information is exactly my style, thank you for putting out awesome content
  • The Bajau people is exactly who I’ve been talking about with friends recently it amazes me that humans can achieve such superhuman feats once we develop new skills in our chosen environment 💪💪😎
  • That had so much info in less than 10 mins. Plus, it's making me want to look for a nearby pool and schedule swimming into my routine. Good job mate.
  • Off topic but that Mike Tyson Pushup from your last video is the best exercise I've ever done!!
  • As a lifetime swimmer for more than 50 years, I can't but agree! And there were quite a lot of facts even I didn't know. Great video.
  • Eddie hall built his base as an elite swimmer before he hit strong man and has a world record deadlift and arguably the strongest shoulders in the world, coincidence?
  • This channel is a great mix of anthropology and animation, very educational. TYSM!!!!

Really love your channel and content mate. Great stuff, keep the videos coming
  • I've always loved swimming as a kid, But now that I'm almost 30 I've chosen swimming as my main exercise. All I can say is that I'm the most fit I've ever been in my life, and If I keep this up there is no reason to slowly degrade as I approach my "older" years. All that " oh im 30 now, guess i'll have bad knee's" couldn't be further from the truth.

I Swam everyday for a month and by the end of it I got used to my body being heavier so when it came to my regular weight training and basketball my muscles were able to stay under stress for a lot more time / reps ( this is the only benefit I distinctly remember but there were many more)
  • Ok. So about the sea food. In my region in settlements dated with stone age we find literally hills of river oyster shells. Of course humans settled near fresh water, cause they needed source for it. Noone dug wells back then. As for children having swimming reflex - they swam most of their existence in mother's belly. It makes sense.

Thank you. Was a dedicated swimmer in College, Stopped after graduated. I swim every now and then. I want to get back 2 it. Currently have a broken hand, this is probably going to be great therapy to rehab my hand.
  • @Tomaszeks
Excellent video! I always learn something new while watching.
  • All I'm hearing is any baby I have will be familiarized with the process of baptism until they're old enough to choose to be baptized, and they'll be swimming and sprinting.
  • @firewalk312
