The legend continues in Zelda & Chill III. Mikel returns with a third installment in the beloved lofi series, and fourteen brand-new beats from the Legend of Zelda universe. ▸ vgm.fm/zeldachill3

With the release of Zelda & Chill in 2018, Mikel and GameChops broke new ground. The album was met with overwhelmingly positive reactions and paved the path for many more videogame music and lofi crossovers to come. Mikel released a follow-up, Zelda & Chill II, in 2020 — and it was once again a hit. Now, he returns in Zelda & Chill III: a fourteen-track album filled with classics and deep cuts alike from the Legend of Zelda series.

Mikel is a music producer and engineer based in Germany. His sound is characterized by organic grooves and instrumentation, and a minimalist lofi vibe. While the Zelda & Chill series stands as his most popular work, he is also the creator of Poke & Chill, and frequently collaborates with his brother, Jokabi (known for the Chilltendo series).

Zelda & Chill III includes tunes from the GameBoy hand-held Link’s Awakening, the Nintendo 64-era Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, Twilight Princess for GameCube and Wii, and the 2010s’ A Link Between Worlds for 3DS and Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch. Composers heard on the album include Koji Kondo, Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata, and Toru Minegishi.

“Legend of Lorule" receives a visually stunning music video directed by Mathias Zägel. Shot over two days in Lac de Moiry Switzerland, "Legend of Lorule" features the breathtaking scenery of Oeschinen Lake. Mikel's arrangement draws from "Lorule Castle" from The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for Nintendo 3DS. You can watch it here ▸    • "Legend of Lorule" from Zelda & Chill...

Zelda & Chill III is out now on all stores and streaming platforms! Vinyl pre-orders are available on Bandcamp. Support Mikel and GameChops by streaming, saving, and adding the tracks to your playlists.

Hey guys, as most of you know this will be my last "& chill" album. I think you can hear in the songs, that it was not easy to say goodbye, but it still feels like the right time. 4 years ago my first album was released and changed my life. I am still so thankful for this! It was mix of emotions working on this album, but I am very happy with the outcome. Of course I will not stop producing music in total. I am actually working on a lot of new, original songs on the go. This september I quit my apartement and sold nearly all of my stuff to travel the world, with two backpacks, my laptop, headphones and a mini keyboard. I am loving it so far and producing on the road actually works really well. Sadly, due to time differences I do not know if I will be able to watch the premiere with you, but hopefully I can. So again, thank you so much for your support, kind words and everything, this means the world to me. Enjoy! -Mikel

Through thick and thin, late night study sessions, and times when I just needed to relax, Zelda & Chill has been my lifeboat. Your music has helped and inspired millions, Mikel—and this final album is the perfect send-off to the trilogy. Good luck in whatever you pursue next ❤

The journey continues. Chilled with Ganon. He stabbed me in the back. Now I must fight him. But how?

The final entry in an amazing trilogy of playlists. These playlists have done wonders for me over the past 3 years I have known about them. Brought me so much comfort, nostalgia, and was there for me at times when I needed it most. I have spent countless hours playing this while I do ANYTHING in life, and it always makes it better. With Zelda being my favorite game series of all time, the feelings these playlists bring me are overwhelming. Thank you, so much! Mikel, Jokabi, and Helynt are a step above the rest! <3

What a great end to the Zelda & Chill trilogy. It's a bit bittersweet that it will be the last lo-fi album from Mikel, but the ones he has created are truly amazing. Thank you for everything Mikel.
