Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23, is one of many young people taken hostage by Hamas during an incursion into Israel that killed more than 1,300 others. His parents Jon Palin and Rachel Goldberg, Americans who moved to Israel more than a decade ago, sat down with NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo on Thursday and described their pain since the couple’s only son went missing.

I have a son. My only son. As a mother, I cannot imagine a world without my son, my precious child. It pains me to see these parents agony and pain.
  • I have been looking for information and any updates about this family everywhere lately. My heart is with them and Hersh and I'm always praying. I am an American and visited Israel a few months before this tragedy. I will always stand with Israel and will never forget this family. Sending so much love and nonstop prayers.

The UN and all the world has shown how little they care about israeli citizens

This story of Hersh hit me the most. I can't imagine what he went through and I can't imagine the parent's pain. I would be crying my eyes out if this was my child. Praying for him.

Thank you for your empathy, Chris. As an Israeli, it’s fascinating to see how coverage about the hostages becomes overshadowed or even skewed in international media. Good to know there’s some good reporters.

This mother is being tortured for so long... I can't watch her without crying. 😭... bring them home As an ex Muslim Christian I support Israel 🇮🇱
  • Hersh looks small built and delicate , like his mother. How would he survive, with his arm blown off by a grenade... must have needed expert medical attention immediately. Did he get it ? It is a nagging and worrying thought.

I a jewess, I appreciate all your understanding and support for Israel and specially for the hostages. But you can take a step further: pray, write letters to your governments, sign a petition, organise a peaceful protest…let your voices be heard. Shalom and God bless you all

I pray they are all alive and will be sent home. The pain of the in between is unimaginable. My heart aches for them and their families.

Thank for covering and being a stand for the hostages. God bless these parents for being objective regardless of what they're going through. I feel that these hostages have been purely forgotten about. The mission was to rescue the hostages.
