Although this has been released on Tumblr and Bandcamp for a while now, I'm so excited to finally be able to share my first original song with you guys here on YouTube! This is one of the originals that I was referring to in my last video blog, and it's definitely a special track for me.
It's a piece heavily inspired by Princess Yue's character from Avatar: The Last Airbender, but ultimately I tried to create a song that stands alone and hopefully everyone will be able to enjoy even if they're not a fan of the series.
All elements in the track from the lyrics to the arrangement and instrumental were performed by me, so I'm very excited to say that it is my first entirely original piece. This is new territory for me, so I hope it turned out well! There was a theory that she was supposed to be the next avatar. When she was born, she was sleeping because the avatar soul had not entered her body. The Legend of Princess Yue would’ve been a great show 💙🌙

This sounds like a lullaby the future generations of the Northern Water tribe would sing to their kids in honor of Yue and her sacrifice.

Yue is such an underrated character in the Avatar-verse. She chose her duty over love. Tragic yet so beautiful.

Love the theory that if Aang wasn’t in ice for 100 years, Yue would’ve been the avatar after him. She didn’t have the avatar spirit in her so she needed the moon spirit to live on and would’ve been next in line in the avatar cycle from air to water
