Is there anyone else too like me... who have been repeatedly watching this documentary like some sort of comfort videos... its so fascinating and satisfying .
  • Potentially the greatest retelling of 3,000 years of Egyptian civilization in four hours? With the most passionate, knowledgeable, and relatable host/guide? From Narmer to Cleopatra VII, spanning 30+ dynasties this was incredible. Thank you for posting this as a free resource for everyone.

I love this lady so much. The one redhead on this earth ready to face the mysteries of a desert in ALL BLACK

There is nothing else as most amazing and powerful in the world, than listening to a person who's heart is burning like the brightest sun for the subject they know and love.

This is one that I can watch over and over, one I will even put in my "to go to sleep by" playlist. It's brilliantly done, and this woman shows how deeply she cares for history with every scene. Some could even bring a tear to the eye, as strongly as she shows her feelings for this place. Let me put it this way: If it isn't real passion for history that I'm seeing, she's the best actor I've seen in a very long time. I'm so glad I found this channel, and especially this video! ❤❤

Love Egypt and their History. Egypt is our oldest friend, a relationship that go back millenials, not just some decades or centuries. Greetings from Athens, Greece
  • She is so captivating when talking about ancient Egypt. Her passion and love is palpable.
  • @BillMcSwain
One of the world's greatest narrators. Her soft, and lovely voice is angelic to me.

I love that they actually make real archeologists do the reporting instead of hiring some journalists who only have superficial knowledge of what they are about to cover. You can really feel the deep enthusiasm they have.

This is a stellar documentary that is not a redesigned repeat of the hundreds of previous Egyptian documentaries. This is a truly unique and comprehensive documentary that explains Egypt’s civilization beginnings and ultimate decline over 5,000 years.
  • Her reaction to Imhotep's had being uncovered.. you can tell how much she LOVES ancient Egypt's culture. She almost had me tearing up.
  • @Witchofthewoods.
This lady is a walking encyclopedia for Egyptian history. I absolutely adore her stories and learning from her videos.
  • There’s something truly magical and beautiful about watching someone talk about their passions and what they love, they have this shimmer in their eyes, they light up and all the sudden you can see the passion pouring out of them as they talk. You see it when she talks too, when she’s in the tombs so full of awe and joy. You can tell she truly loves what she’s doing and it’s honestly really cool to watch. Seeing someone be able to do what makes them truly passionate and happy, then the fact that she educates people in it. It’s really amazing.

I lived in Alexandria for a period, and i visited the majority of the places in this video. Really amazing to think about the history of these places
  • Joann Fletcher is such a remarkable lady. She was great hosting this series.
  • @Nezalu
I love her passion for the subject, her enthusiasm for egyptology is infectious.
  • @TheDrumminjay
Joanne is the perfect host for this type of narration on historical subjects!! She really draws you in and you can hear the passion in her voice. Put her in more videos, please...sorry that's Professor Johanne Fletcher!!!
  • In my book Joann Fletcher is to Ancient Egypt wat Mary Beard is to Ancient Rome and Eleanor Janega is to Medieval England. All three are first class story tellers
