Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
I must’ve dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They’re moving into the street
Now, did you read the news today?
They say the danger’s gone away
But I can see the fire’s still alight
There, burning into the night
[Pre-Chorus]
There’s too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And there’s not much love to go ‘round
Can’t you see
This is a land of confusion?
[Chorus]
This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we’re given
Use them, and let’s start trying
To make it a place worth living in
[Verse 2]
Ooh, Superman, where are you now?
When everything’s gone wrong somehow
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour
[Pre-Chorus]
This is the time
This is the place
So, we look for the future
But there’s not much love to go ‘round
Tell me why this is a land of confusion
[Chorus]
This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we’re given
Use them and let’s start trying
To make it a place worth living in
[Bridge]
I remember long ago
Ooh, when the sun was shining
And all the stars were bright
All through the night
In the wake of this madness
As I held you tight
So long ago
[Verse 3]
I won’t be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We’re not just making promises
That we know we’ll never keep
[Pre-Chorus]
Too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go ‘round
Can’t you see
This is a land of confusion?
[Chorus]
Now, this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we’re given
Use them, and let’s start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for
This is the world we live in
And these are the names we’re given
Stand up and let’s start showing
Just where our lives are going to

People seem to be missing one key point of this song. It's about people putting aside their differences and uniting against those that are using people's fear, anger and hatred to control us and keep us divided.
-
Fact: The older this song gets, the more relevant it is Edit: Revisiting this 2 years later as yet another war starts
-
The more divided we are, the easier it is to control all of us.
-
Anyone Still Playing This Masterpiece In 2024?.
-
This song couldn’t be any more accurate of what’s going on with the world today
-
Phil Collins deserves respect that many of his songs have been sung and recorded by other bands and artists. It proves, that he sung songs with lyrics of quality.
-
People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.
-
I like how your version of the song gives more of a darker meaning to the lyrics. Phil’s version is almost dreamlike, hopeful that we can change. This version feels gritty, raw, like we’re clinging to the last hope. I love it
-
This video represents how we the people have the power to stop the greed, the corruption and the destruction of our world.
-
This aged like fine wine.
-
Perfect song for 2024.
-
" Sometimes whole world doesn't need a another hero, it needs a MONSTER "
-
Anyone else think the bands mascot should get his own animated series
-
“There’s too many men, to many people, making too many problems” those hit hard.
-
Lust for power and control have made this world like this This is more relevant than ever today. May God help us all
-
This is the world we live in now for real.
-
Trying to compare this song to the original is like comparing apples to oranges. They're two totally different genres, although this version is really good. Despite it being Metal, they were able to mimic the feel of the original song quite well. This is definatly a more modern Land of Confusion. Props to you, Disturbed.
-
A bit depressing that a song from nearly 40 years ago and this version released over 10 years ago still holds meaning today. No generation seems to have got it right yet 😞
-
This song just become more important than ever......

this version saw the future friends, wake up
