This presentation is about Boleskine House - on the shores of Loch Ness.
Aleister Crowley - purchased Boleskine for £2,000
which was twice the market value at that time.

Boleskine, he believed, provided a more
favourable location for his occult practices,
He wished to conduct a series of
rituals from the Book of Abramelin -
a mid–15th–century manuscript of a Jewish mystical provenance
that would become central to Crowley’s new religion Thelema,
which he believed would help him make
contact with his holy guardian angel.

I am from Inverness and we used to go to Boleskine for a dare when we in school. Some very weird stuff happened to me and my friends there, and my grandad is a painter who was given the job of painting and doing odd jobs there. He has also some very weird tales about working there, he was in the house by himself a lot and found secret rooms. Heard people talking in empty rooms, and found a secret passage going from the basement to somewhere underneath the graveyard. His tools were going missing regularly in an empty house! He is a serious person I totally believe him. Very weird place.
  • We didn't have to wait 1000 yrs for "Crowleyanity". The music, fashion, art, and movie industry has done a great job promoting "Do as thou Wilt" to the masses. These modern "Idols" are loved and worshipped by millions of people.

I think Crowley was sick, warped, and depraved, and that it's a waste of money to spend countless thousands of pounds on restoring a house where truly evil things went on. I understand that some people romanticize it because of its notoriety. I'm glad I'm not one of them. I pity his daughter having such a reprobate for a father. Fascinating video Oddie! Well done!

Crowly was a complete lunatic. You cannot control demons.........they LIE. He lost track of REALITY after he was addicted to heroin. You call evil & evil will answer. He was a mess. As much as I love historic homes, it would have been better if it had burned to the ground. Thank you, Oddie. Love your videos !

Sooo interesting Oddie. I have read about Aleister Crowley, but a long time ago. The Boleskine House was an unusual place. Thank you for this scary and chilling video. As always Oddie, great job.

With all the terrible things that happen in the world, why summon demons???? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
  • @audreyd6725
The greatest deception the devil uses is to convince people that he doesn't exist. Unfortunately Crowley was a fool and fell right in to the devil's palm
  • I would never spend a night. My late husband was butler on an old estate. We lived in a house on the estate that was built in the 1700's. It was truly haunted. Terrifying actually. After we left, the next butler hung himself in the hallway one Christmas Eve. No, thank you. I did enjoy your broadcast and all your videos. You present them with class.

I really had to pause and carefully look at the images from the old texts. These ancient symbols have long intrigued curious human minds. It helps if ones mind is a bit "odd". Magnificent piece, Oddie! Chock full of magick and artistry.
  • The history of the home is amazing. Yes, people do open doorways. Sometimes they have no clue what they have done or what they are dealing with.

Oddie, I've been listening for quite a few years now. I don't comment much for the fear of sounding silly so to speak. I enjoy your channel immensely!! You go a lot more into the information than anyone I know. Thank you!!!

Great video! I have always been fascinated about Crowley's "friendship" with Jack Parsons, who then opened Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) in Pasedena CA with Crowleys direction. Then none other than L Ron Hubbard comes into the picture and becomes friends with Jack. Together they perform magic and end up creating JPL (Jet Propulsion Labs) which is where Jack supposedly received the direction on how to create the rocket fuel.

You only have to look at Crowley's eyes to see what he is all about. Pure evil. No empathy or warmth in those eyes. Serial killers have that same blank stare.
  • I live near it, it's getting done up and it's beautiful now. No bad vibes at all.
  • @jaz58107
"A dark Song" is a really good movie about the Abremelin ritual if anyone's interested, very spooky. And yes please do another video on Aliester Crowley, I find him fascinating. Great video, ty!

There are a lot of eerie places I'd spend a night at, but this is not one of them 😬 I've heard a little bit about Boleskine, but not this much of its history. Thank you for another amazing presentation, sir! Have a wonderful weekend!
  • Thank you, Oddie! This was fascinating. I'm sure it took a lot of time and work, and was very fair and balanced. A video on Crowley himself would indeed be appreciated, understandably also involving much time and work

Oh my, I just looked up the location of Boleskine House and this gave me the creeps. Back in 2010 we were geocaching around Loch Ness. My husband pulled over at an old charming cemetery and told me to look for the cache myself, since the street was narrow and he had to park close to the cemetery wall and couldn't open his door. So I went looking on my own ... luckily I found the cache within a few minutes, but I ran back to the car as fast as I could, it felt so creepy there, like a black veil covering the day and I had difficulties breathing. I hadn't read the cache description, so I had no clue what happened in the area. And this graveyard is located just across the road from Boleskine House. I'm never visiting that graveyard again.

Fascinating. I love how in depth you went and look forward to you doing a real biography of Crowley. I think I would give it a try to stay there...
