Bergomi...Baresi...Maldini...What a defense!!! I still think that Italia had the better team overall...

As much as I wanted Italy to win I can't help but admire the character of Argentina and their determination with maradona having an exceptional game.

Italy's defeat in World Cup 1990 was sweet poetic justice, for the way they had won the 1982 World Cup with the most brutal and dirtiest tactics ever !!

7:31 The most lethal pass in the history of football, and then Messi's pass against the Netherlands in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

There were a lot of mistaken offside calls given against the Italians, the one @9:23 perhaps being the most significant because Schillaci had a good opportunity there if play had been allowed to continue, as it should have. I feel sorry for Zenga, he had a good tournament up until that goal, but crosses were a very weak point of his. Goycochea's fortunes, in contrast, peaked in this match as he did everything right and was one of the surprise heroes of the tournament. As a big fan of Baggio I can't help but lament that he wasn't on from the start, he had a positive impact when he came on and made things happen, combined well with other attacking players. A bit like at France '98, he was brought on late in what turned out to be the final game for Italy and did well, but not quite enough to score or create a goal.

after this match Argentina arrived in the Final without a chance because, besides being physically exhausted, they were missing 6 starters...since that was not enough they were not given a sacrosanct penalty (foul by Matthäus on Calderon) and dulcis in fundus they were given a penalty to the Germans after a simulation by Völler (in this nobody beats the Germans who also won the Final of 74 thanks to a simulation by Hölzenbein and a fake penalty)
