Theres actually some interesting history to this. The russians had a lot of trouble with troop morale, and they found it was cheaper to spend a little extra on better food for their MREs, than to do any of the stuff the US was doing,. Food will make or break a war effort.
  • Hello my friend. I'm from Russia. Red candy flavored with barberry, not cherry. Pork and chicken liver pate, not turkey. I'm glad you liked our dry rations. Good review with a good host.
  • That "tea powder" is an isotonic drink concentrate. Its included in many nations' MRE-s. Basically to replenish some vitamins and minerals.

The pate is just a paste of chicken or pork liver and some spices and salt. It's extremely nutritious and perfect for harsh winters as it comes with a ton of energy packed in a small size. The taste is not amazing, but it's just a bread spread so you won't eat it by itself with a spoon. Also you would mix it with other salty bread spreads like cheese, butter and so on, never with sweet ones like jam or the likes. Use it at breakfast with hot tea, fresh bred, cheese, butter and a boiled egg.

As a Bulgarian it's fun to see you strugle with russian names of food, even tho i don't know russian, slavic languages are similar fairly easy to understand and even make conversation. God bless you brother!

Кто-нибудь расскажите ему,что у него не паек армии РФ,а обычный коммерческий туристический паек для свободной продажи.

You forgot one other main thing.....we eat sanctions for breakfast 🇷🇺
  • Very good video. Thank you so much for your service!. I am a veteran too but from Soviet Union Army. Back in 1984 we didn't have anything like this type of MRE, usually we had a field kitchen which is meals on wheels, buckwheat with pot roast and stuff like that.
  • Never seen one of your videos. 10 points for the prayer, sir. OUTSTANDING

One man carries the MRE. The other man carries the spork. When the man with the MRE is killed. The man with the spork picks up the MRE.

The brown powder “tea” is made (milled) from the berries called shipovnik. Very reach of the Vitamin C and should be added to usual tea (or drunk separately depending on personal preference).
  • My grandmother always said "Eat dessert first" when I was a kid, you're the only other person who I've heard utter that particular bit of wisdom. Made me smile, thanks!
  • Alot of energy in this MRE. probably since they are in a colder climate they need it for longer periods. Another awesome video sir!
  • Russians have their own MRE reviewer. He had reviewed almost every MRE, even the ancient ones from 1940's, vietnam war etc. And he also liked USA MRE
