This is obscene. Something needs to change. Violent crime doesn't deserve a free pass. The punishment should fit the crime. Nonviolent deserves to be treated a bit lighter. But violence needs to be addressed more forcefully.

Florida needs to invest in more youth programs for prevention & more institutions for kids that need more discipline than other students. When I was a kid in Arizona, if you got suspended 3 times, you went to Durango Juvenile Detention Center to finish out the school year.

Half these kids can't read or write, I think educating them is important. Equipping them with the skills they need to function is important. But a violent crime needs more than an essay. Now an essay and jail term with required GED classes is appropriate. These Florida jits are out of control, to be real.

They need better juvenile rehabilitation programs. They need to do time. This curfew and probation only punishes the parents.

It's Volusia County though let's think about that. That's Daytona beach area I lived there for about 5 years. Times apparently have changed because they was harsh on anything down there back when I lived there. I was consistently getting pulled over and tickets and got in trouble often for petty stuff. Guess things have changed
