Bit of a correction, Tobirama did not make Hashirama sell the tailed beasts, causing the war. Hashirama wanted to give them away for free to all the other nations, he was hopelessly idealistic. Tobirama said that it they were going to be giving away the beasts, they had to at least sell them to help fund Konoha’s development

the fact that naruto went from feudal land lords fighting over territory, shinobis, samurai, geopolitics, and shit to battling space devils is outright insane. It could have been so much better if it kept a more ground-to-earth approach. (Of course it has fiction elements to it. The Doujutsu, the bijuus, etc. What i'm saying is that mixing medieval shit with space fiction just doesn't work. That's my point.)
