When Michelle Yeoh said that it felt like everything she’s done in the past 40 years of her career prepared her for EEAAO, I felt that. Growing up and watching her films, being inspired by this woman for DECADES- I cried many times but especially when they gave us the supercut of all the Michelle Yeohs. She deserves it ALL 🙌🏻
  • When Michelle Yeoh is talking about her role in "Everything Everywhere All At Once", every actress in the roundtable is looking at her with envy-admired eyes that this role is what they dream of and they know and have witnessed Michelle could do it as perfectly as she did

Claires comment about movies/movie-makers fetishizing traumatic events that happen to women rather than prioritizing the humanity of that person and their experience -- maybe the most powerful statement said. This is a global pandemic and diseased perspective that is rampant in the world. See, understand and connect to women as human beings. They are not "others" to be fetishized in movies or in real life. They are humans.

Michelle Yeoh’s performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once shows she can indeed do drama, action and comedy—everything all at once.” She deserves to win at the Academy for best actress

As someone who has been a Michelle Yeoh fan since seeing her in Heroic Trio and Executioners, it struck me odd that she was correct that mainstream Hollywood and casual movie people only "discover her" when her next movie comes out. This year when people saw Everything , Everywhere All at Once, some of my friends or my friends children were saying " This NEW actress Michelle 'something' was AMAZING in that movie. I hope she does something else." I then have to get on my high horse and give them a history of the legend that she is and has always been.

I love how Michelle directs her conversation to everyone including the camera/people watching this to make everyone a part of the discussion. Shows so much of her incredible experience with speaking publicly ❤️

Michelle Yeoh, not only she's drop dead gorgeous, elegant, talented, funny and the list of adjectives goes on.... she catches everyone's attention with her aura, and of course by just being the legend she is, but especially with her brilliant way with words. She speaks her thoughts with such outright confidence and gracefulness, like everything else she does, and I just can't help but be totally and completely enchanted by her.

44:33 All of them just busting out laughing when Jennifer Lawrence talked about Bryan Singer SENT me. I was over here giggling too.
  • best highlights : Michelle calling out Hollywood favoritism and telling the girls should be lucky they don't have to deal with directors or producers you can't be a certain character because of color. Also Jennifer calling out Bryan Singer out while doing xmen and just being honest and vulnerable. Love this table they should do it every year see how the progress is with each actress like they did with Billie for her teen years..
  • I had the biggest laugh when Claire Foy screamed she LOVED love is blind, just so unexpected 😂
  • I’m just here for Michelle Yeoh. EEAAO is once in a lifetime movie & I’m sooo happy she’s finally getting all the recognition!
  • @wuodbonde
Watching this confirmed two things for me : 1) Michelle Yeoh is the epitome of grace and intelligence 😍2) Jennifer Lawrence has perfect comic timing 😂
  • There is still a very marked difference in the questions that are asked at the actress roundtables versus the questions asked at the actors roundtables. I get that there are some social issues that are important for actresses in the public eye to talk about but I find it strange that only the women have to have these types of conversations where as the men get to wax lyrical about their art, character psychology, method , experiences etc. I would like to hear more about these extraordinary actreses artistic processes!
  • @moppis1937
Danielle is literally one of the most incredible actresses alive. I couldn’t believe her performance in Station Eleven, just pure brilliance. She’s going to blow up and get the recognition she deserves. I know it.
  • @henryng149
Seeing Michelle Yeoh sitting here amongst all these A-list actress makes me so so proud as a Malaysian, being a Malaysian Chinese seeing someone represent us in Hollywood... we really needed this triumph especially how Malaysia has been in the news for the past few years (with corruption, plane crash etc).... We are proud of u Michelle!! Thank you!
  • Michelle Yeoh adds an important voice to this table. Her maturity and experience lends itself to this group of women. Some of them experience life a lot easier than those outside of their realm.
  • @Nancy-sf2pl
I love that Emma Corrin is part of this. I feel like younger actresses like Emma, and also Emma Mackey for ‘Emily’, have not gotten enough recognition for the stellar performances they gave this year :/
  • @jynx2501
I love that the world is finally seeing Michelle Yeoh for who she truly is. She defines elegance, grace, and humility.
  • Great discussion. Katherine Heigl has raised some of these issues up before in regards to working hours and was canceled and mocked. Let’s not forget about her bravery.
  • I clicked for Michelle Yeoh but realizing Claire Foy and Emma Corrin are in the same room kinda blew my mind
