The escaped convict, Mohamed Amra, 30, has a long criminal record, with at least 13 convictions for robbery and other crimes, the first when he was just 15, prosecutors said.     The French people might be the only group who more than Americans have no clue they no longer own their country. French culture is almost gone.

    In much of the U.S., ordinary law-abiding private citizens are allowed to carry guns for defense against criminals. That's not allowed in France, so French police don't have to worry about this sort of thing happening in France.
