lets be honest here, this is just really poorly disguised child labour

One of my teachers was caught having a slime free for all with a student. He's now serving life in prison.
  • I remember when a kid sold enough boxes of chocolates to earn an Xbox 360 and he ended up getting an old computer monitor because they didn’t think anybody would actually sell that many boxes.

We had these when I was a kid, but my mom refused to let me participate because she saw it for the gross scam that it was, and she didn't want me going door to door. I was annoyed by that back in the day because I had no chance of getting all the cool prizes.

Thanks, mom. Didn't appreciate you enough as a kid.

Is this a US only thing? It sounds like child labour to me
  • School: “Hey kids, Child Labor is always bad.”

Also School: “Hey kids, want to participate in some fun child labor?”
  • Ah school fundraisers, our earliest introduction to the classic "boss makes a dollar, I make a dime" business model

I remember one of these fundraisers promised our class an "ice cream social", and they were not only like month late on it, but they literally just gave everyone in my class a frozen gogurt. They somehow managed to fuck up buying ice cream for small children.

This is the most agressively American thing I can't believe is actually real

No joke, In third grade we had to close down almost every boys bathroom cause kids kept rubbing shit on the walls.
  • @hillbillydelux
Thats why I love my dad, every year he would say "my kids aint selling shit thats why I pay taxes." Unless it was the little league candy boxes full of reeses, crunch bars etc. He'd just give them the cash for the whole box and then give us the candy throughout the summer for being good.
  • The one time we had a “Principal for a Day” event, it was one of the special ed kids. I don’t even think it was for a fundraiser, but he had fun with it. At lunch, he went up to the stage and began shouting at random students because the principal did this every day and he thought this was what principals did. We never had a “Principal for a Day” after that, mostly because he made the principal look like an asshole

I just realized I was milked and used for child labor in elementary

Man i remember in 7th grade when we all wanted a microwave for lunch and it took 3 years, 41 fundraisers, and 14 individual parent donations until the principal went out to Costco and bought a $20 plug in microwave

I remember once my class in 6th grade won a fundraiser for a pizza party. We sold over $4-6k worth of product (I dont remember the name or exact amount but its in the thousands) and we sold the most out of any other class. That pizza party? Two large pizza boxes to feed 26 students. Everyone got half a slice of pizza hut cheese pizza and a dixie cup of Hawaiian punch. We were also only given half the class to eat and finish said pizza. I've hated fundraisers since that day.

Idubbbz is just becoming the uncle who you only see on holidays or funerals
  • @VictorHuff
Our school just said "Sell this shit or you'll be put on probation."
There were no prizes, only threats and sadness.

I remember picking the pocket knife for selling a bunch of popcorn tubs. after receiving said knife at school from the teacher I was immediately suspended.
