I used to sell solar panels and like 20% of my appointments ended up in their doomsday bunker with them telling me all their theories about the government

To be fair, having some extra non perishables around your place is still a good idea. But you're way more likely to need them because you got laid off than as a result of a government takeover.

Something I find interesting is how these guys want doomsday to happen. They're not super special in their normal life or seen as crazy in their prepping. In their mind they believe if Doomsday happens they've shown all the people in their life how awesome they really are. That's why there's this "fuck you got mine" mentality. They want to beg for their help so they can smugly answer "no"

I think idubbz wants Preppers to play video games or D&D so they slack on their prepping and he can horde all the good stuff for himself!

I really wonder whether that guy with a 15 year supply of peanut butter and jelly knows how to make bread.

I feel like Idubbz was watching preppers because he wants to Prep but fell into a rabbit whole of how fucking crazy these people are lol..

My grandpa is a prepper and takes a lot of pride in the though of protecting me and our family in the case of an emergency. He started really worrying once the pandemic was on full force and he's been stockpiling food and other necessities ever since. My grandma got really into canning food as well and has an entire room full of canned food. Not even just fruits and vegetables, stuff like ingredients for making baked goods and stews. I was thought it was a bit crazy at first, but it makes me happy that they have that comfort that we'll all be well prepared in a dangerous situation. It makes me feel loved, and it makes my grandparents feel at ease! It helps that my grandma is a great cook and their cupboards are always stocked full of snacks. They're also very organized and have the money to afford this stuff, so it's a win-win all around.

As a prepper, this is spot on. There is a wanna be hero, wanna be right, doom fetishism with most of these guys.

Prepping is all fun and games when it's collecting food, guns, ammo, and maybe an underground bunker complex, but once you need a dedicated drawer for relish you've gone too far.

How can someone go through the past 3 years and NOT be a prepper? Only a fool.
