In today's video I bought myself a mental barn find, restoration project, TVR Cerbera, this car has sat in a barn for over 10 years and is going to require a lot of love to get it back to its former glory! This is going to be an interesting long term series at the very least

Chassis could be the big issue, well known for rot! Keep the colour combo, the green & cream is nice!

Beautiful car, lovely colour, keep as is. Check out wheeler dealer’s they did a Cerbera, they removed the body from the chassis, made life a lot easier? Good luck 🤞

That’s a brave purchase! Definitely going to watch this. I love the Cerb. Personally I love the colour combo, keep it like that.
  • Wheeler Dealers restored one some years back, I think that was an AJP engined car which needed a new chassis. I love the Peter Wheeler era cars, so unique and have aged so well. Looking forward to seeing this develop.
  • Wasn’t expecting that - greetings from Germany. What they didn’t say after the top gear but was that it then immediately broke down 😂😂

The colour combo gets a 👍 from me! As others have mentioned, the chassis frame is prone to serious corrosion - remember Wheeler Dealers example....

Deep purple looks amazing on the cerbra
  • You might be a bit disappointed on the 'parts-bin' front, a lot of the Cerbera was bespoke unlike the earlier Griffith and Chimaera. I've got a 2002 Cerbera Speed Six, give me a shout if you fancy experiencing a fully sorted one- you'll realise then that the labour of love is well worth it as they're absolutely stonking cars! Oh and the hazard switch is on the end of the indicator stalk 😁
  • Good luck mate, I did the same restoration with a 4.2 about 7 years ago, although with the help of a good specialist. What a car when done, and get on pistonheads forums for the parts and expertise. I would say it’s a straight forward technology so don’t worry.
  • My brother in law bought a new 4.5 in 1999 at the cost of 50k or thereabouts as I recall. It was stunning and to this day it's the most amazing sounding car I've ever heard. It unsurprisingly drew crowds wherever he parked up. It was amazing. Sadly, as has been eluded to already in these comments , owning one was an absolute nightmare and in the 3 or 4 years or so he had it , it undoubtedly spent more time back in the garage than it did on the road.. something was constantly going wrong with it. So, I wish you the very best of luck! It's still one of my all time favourites, just wish I'd taken up one of the many offers to drive it (I refused as I wouldn't have been insured).

TVR! Awesome -this is going to give us all some "extended" content thats for sure - Love the sound these make and these were definitely a head turner. Keep the colour combination as its really suits it. Look forward to this - i think its going to be some serious work and they're known for their plethora of issues. Nice one Dean, good luck!

  • @NigelWest
A superb project and I love the colour combo. Looking forward to seeing the project progress

It is gorgeous Dan, i really like the colour combination. Restoring the interior will be easy in comparison off getting it running i think
  • @mikefadian6129
Awesome! This will make a fantastic change to the VAG stuff. Good luck!

Soon as you mentioned the video clip I knew exactly what was coming 😄 ‘Woooah look at that TVR!!’…..classic
  • The green is what gives it British look, I like it, wouldn't change it. I would keep it as original as possible. Great project, I want one to fix up now. 🙂Have A Nice Day !! I know I will !!!
  • Brilliant project, I love the colour combo. Looking forward to seeing things unfold. Top choice.
  • @Watch-Crazy
I'd go for a mallard green like that used on the MG-Bs, it's basically the original British Racing Green colour, it's much deeper, richer and I think it will really set the design alright!
