  • @DaBrainFarts
The "finger puppet" segments are adorable and hilarious. Is it possible to bring it back for something?

I’ve quoted ‘your dominoes are more interesting than my dominoes’ so many times :D

You and your team are doing great things. I hope your C-section is routine and uncomplicated. Good luck! We'll be here when you're ready to come back. In the meantime, your team has your back.
  • Hi Jessica. I’ve never commented before. This is my first day with medicine after my adult diagnosis. I love seeing your videos and they have helped me better understand myself and even better explain my symptoms to my WONDERFUL psychiatrist. Looking to build that routine with my also WONDERFUL new therapist this year and beyond. Your smile is infectious and your generally upbeat mood is wonderful. With all the negative feedback I can use some positivity. And early CONGRATS on your baby!🎉
  • I don't have ADHD but I have chronic depression and have been working my way out of a depressive state. This in the middle of a change in houses and expectations in career migration. In the middle of all this craziness I had to press the "pause" button and remember that, before I am able to make the bigger stuff (such as prospect clients for my new career, get equipment, etc) I need to do the basic stuff: EAT. SLEEP. DRINK WATER. EXERCISE. CLEAN MY HOUSE AND MYSELF. Therefore, routine is the first thing to be established over here now that the mess is gone. Videos such as yours remind me of that. Thank you very much! Also, all the best with Baby Brain <3 cheers from Brazil

Routines absolutely can help, and I've seen the difference with my Dad since he retired and doesn't have the routine of work, even though his work schedule wasn't really routine (he still had the routine of getting ready to go, the commute, and the work itself). He and I are both undiagnosed adults, but my Mom and I have figured it out. He's in denial and I'm learning all I can to understand and explain why we are the way we are. My routines have never been full day routines (not since high school a long time ago), but I can definitely relate to making a routine being a struggle and a half, and to having that routine disrupted. There are days when I end up going without brushing my teeth because my routine gets disrupted before that point happens, and my brain just tells me it's all done. In fact, my brain often tends to be scrambled all day if my morning routine is broken. I've also been struggling for years trying to figure out a routine that includes the garbage. We have strict rules about when it can go out (I don't have recycling or compost, that would completely undo me), but there's only a 2 hour time period once a week when it can go out (or later if they haven't shown up yet and you're lucky), and that window of time is generally when I'm asleep, so I have to change my sleep schedule to work around putting out the garbage. Needless to say, I often either forget what day it is (I remember what day garbage day is, it just doesn't click when it is that day), or I sleep through it, resulting in missing the week.

Happy birthday to a newly born mother and father!🎉 hope all went well and sleep deprivation will stay manageable for you the next days…and weeks…and months 😅
  • @ytm23ak
This is why I am so happy I work in an office. The routine of getting dressed, brushing my teeth, and having all my work stuff just ready to go is amazing. I worked from home before and my ADHD caused me to struggle so hard to get work done. That was so harmful to my mental health.
  • @SebbieSaurus22
The routines and habit videos are some of my favorites. I put them on when I'm especially low on motivation to kick my brain in gear. 💜
  • I love that you got mad at your past self for a moment. I remember watching that video after watching more of your recent content, and I felt the same way.
  • @AMcBee
I like the Rewind idea! I like props! And I'm totally using Routines (sometimes I call them Rituals because that feels More Important And Worthwhile). Happy birthday, Tiny Jessica Offspring!
  • Can confirm, having a kid was like throwing a hand grenade on those dominos. Not just because there's a massive amount of new tasks to add to the routine, but also once they reach the age where everything's a toy, your point of performance goes out the window. My ADHD went from almost imperceptible with lots of well-tuned routines and coping mechanisms to completely out of control. I'm in the rebuilding process now and I've found involving my daughter in some of the routines and POP setups not only gives me an accountability buddy, but also sets her up for future success. It took us 4 years, but hopefully just knowing to look out for that will help prevent some of the chaos.
