Anybody can rank-up, you just have to know how.

I've been through every single rank and have slowly managed to work my way up to Top 100 after years of grinding. Overwatch was my very first fps so if I can climb from the depths of Bronze all the way up to the Top 100 players in the region, anybody can.
Brand new channel so support means a lot!

  • Thanks for this! I was heartbroken, when I dropped from high plat back to silver when I decided to get back to Overwatch. But my road to reach diamond is still on. Hope your channel will have a good future
  • Man, I didnt even think this could be someone's first video until you said it at the end. You're very well-articulated and you seem to know damn well what you're talking about. I hope you make it big, my guy!

There’s a HUGE issue in low ranks that you didn’t hit on. Something I’ve noticed in plat and below is people hold ults for 5-10 minutes or never use it the WHOLE game (I’ve seen that so much). Another thing they do with ults is they stack all the ults, and when one person ults then EVERYONE ults. These aren’t things I see happening once in a while it’s every single match. So many winnable games and team fights are lost because people just hold their ults, which can make it hard to rank up. I remember what helped me get to diamond back in OW1 was watching top 500 streamers and I noticed they would ult as soon as they were able to get value out of it. I used to play a lot of Zarya and enjoyed watching Harbleu. What I noticed was as soon as he got grav he would immediately chuck it and get kills. I implemented this into my gameplay and noticed that you can create an aggressive perpetual ult cycle where you do lots of damage/get kills, build ult, use it, and do it again (or using support ults to save someone or the whole team) Not saying that as soon as your ult hits 100% you should use it, but you should use it right away if you can secure at least 1 kill, bait out an ult, create space, etc. It’s pretty situational but you shouldn’t be holding ults the whole match, always try to use them as soon as you can.

Big tip to rank up: Don't use chat. If you don't use the chat (text and coms) you have a statistically higher chance for teammates to not throw. Not huge odds, just 4x the likelihood your teammates don't sell. In inverse is true, don't start talking, if you do you will have 4x more bad teammates Edit: Overall this guy has good advice, the only thing to add that nobody talks about is how long it will take to rank up. Each rank is a learning experience so don't worry about anything other than being a better player
  • as someone who climbed all the way from bronze to masters (trying for gm lol), this is by far the best advice anyone can give on this subject and i hope everyone listens and writes this all down! this is exactly what helped me climb!

what a great video. i’ve felt like i’ve been stuck in elo hell, and this was the first video that ACTUALLY HELPS and explains how to do things, rather than just give generic garbage that we all know 😅 “get good aim” like i know, but you actually show HOW to get better aim. very great video, you deserve more exposure. keep it up
  • THANK YOU!!!!! I climbed from Bronze 5 to Gold, and now I'll use this to get to Plat or Diamond!
  • Thank you for this! I've only been playing "fps" games for about a year now, and have only been playing Overwatch for 3-4 months. I've been wanting to try out Ranked, but the tip videos and misery I've seen of it keeps psyching me out of even trying. This is way more motivational than any other video on the topic I've ever seen.
  • Honestly, great video. Earned a sub. Can’t stand all these people who have been top of the leaderboards since the beginning of OW1 (who the comp system basically just carries from season to season) basically just insulting lower ranks with no help to improve.

it’s been about a week since i saw this video. right after i did i changed my dpi and sense settings and at first it did seem really slow, but even as a lucio main i had someone on the other team say “is the lucio exploiting?” yesterday while i was on 20-2 tear on Numbani. MY AIM IS SO GOOD NOW THANK YOUUUUUU
  • @annesavisaboochuy

Yo I always liked consuming educational Overwatch content so I've known mostly everything you've gone over but these are by far the MOST important and useful tips I've gathered! Fire video man.
  • @steel4065

  • @Stargazer_ow
Genuinely the best rank-up video I have seen on YouTube. I myself am working on making it to high masters low gm. I started around the same time you did and was hard stuck bronze for my first year. Overtime I have improved peaking at masters 4 and working my way towards GM. I have also shared my experiences on YouTube and methods I've used throughout climbing through every rank below masters, NONE of which are as good as this video. I look forward to seeing more of your content in the future!
  • Random tip: DPI affects input lag. A higher DPI = lower input lag, although resulting in diminishing returns with higher DPI values. for best results, use a DPI of 3200. 3200 DPI results in a significant reduction in latency compared to 800 DPI.

Best part of this video is that it works for any competitive game not just overwatch
  • @valgrey2101
This video needs more recognition; Keep up the good work bro!
  • this is very helpful, thank you! insane that this is your first video man it’s very good!

The mood thing for sure is true. When i actually tried to rank up I was calling shots and setting a good mood and that got me to high masters on all my roles relatively quickly in one season. When i saw my first GM's and t500 instead of getting intimidated because of some dumb rank i just took it less serious and not making a big deal out of it. Mindset can greatly improve your performances.
