  • My son in laws boss an arborist has been fighting the government to allow him and others to clean up trees around jasper and other areas for free
  • when pine killed by beetle isn't harvested it's guaranteed to explode in a forest fire.
  • Parks Canada seemed to have no issue collecting a toll going through the park.

Kelowna fire 2003. Kelowna fire 2023. Pretty much the same scenario and nothing was done to the forests in those 20 years to prevent or decrease the impact of wildfires.

How did they not learn from Fort Mcmurray and Slave lake fires? By not clearing brush and creating sufficient fire breaks was a fire disaster waiting to happen and sadly it did!
  • @demonphobia
If Canada would've pour in money locally instead of giving them out like candies to other nations this fire may be avoided?
  • My question is the last two or three years the summer has been devastating but why in the winters are not the government not trying to clean the undergrowth
  • Was watching a video where they were talking about cut lines used by ATVrs somewhere in Alberta. These lines which could be used by firefighters to access fires, have instead been blocked by authorities with deliberately felled trees. Scary.

Guys they need the budget money for politicians, more HR staff, call centres with their systems down, and of course Ukraine. But in all serious, budget money for Parks Canada has been a joke since the early 2000's. It seems like an afterthought and that's a joke.
  • @Kingly_Krab
Once upon a time, years ago, we had "smokey the bear" lookouts, staffed with spotters to visually look for fires starting up. But thanks to governments of the past, that was all cut from the budget. Nobody has reinstated them since then. Now they just have someone at the edge of town yelling FIRE !!!
  • Anybody takes a chance building a home surrounded by dry Conifer trees. Arson, lightning, anything can set the dry stuff off very quickly.
  • @J3nnycat
Where’s the billions of dollars we’ve spent towards batting climate and things just like this! Why wasn’t more done?
  • @samsport2163
How is it that as we pay, thru taxes, the highest carbon taxes, and that those monies aren’t going to help mitigate these potential disasters. Where is the money Feds???
  • @dezman2003
Nobody but yourself is responsible for your family's safety. You see how they run the rest of the country.
  • @kshay1394
They'll always come back on the individual Canadian. "Build with less flammable items"? Are you kidding me? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
  • Alberta has been battling federal government to do forrest management but they declined to do so
  • I’m praying for those who’ve lost everything. I can’t imagine how upsetting this is 😢🙏🌹
