Thousands Gather To Bury Children Killed In Golan Heights | 10 News First

Thousands have gathered in the Golan Heights town of Majdal Shams for the funerals of the 12 children and teenagers killed in a rocket strike over the weekend.

The tragic attack on the Israeli-controlled area, which took place at a soccer field on Saturday (local time) is being described as the deadliest strike on an Israeli target since October 7.

While the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the attack, the White House has said it was “their rocket, launched from an area they control”.

There are widespread concerns over escalation of violence from the US, UK and Egypt, with Israel’s military vowing to prepare a response against Hezbollah.
