This idea keeps your precious canned goods from being accidentally knocked over by pets quakes and storms etc... I had to think of a better way to store my food and be able to take it with me if I have to leave my home in an emergency šŸšØ

We use milk crates from the schools.....they are black, stackable, visible, and free...you can stack them up to 8 crates high against a wall....easy to move because they are the most durable because they hold alot of weight. The schools' cafeteria managers will let you have them for FREE! Even though schools are virtual, many of their food service departments are providing meals for pick up and delivery for free....I also use them for planting and storing my gardening stuff neatly.

You are having to much fun! Lady Lead what are you going to do with him! šŸ˜† Who ever is giving a thumbs down to this video, just stay off of his channel please!

Label the outside of the container, too that way you donā€™t have to open the lids unnecessarily.
  • This had me literally laughing out loud! Love your channel! Canning is definitely turning into an addiction for me too!šŸ’• I thank God for prep channels like yours so this city girl can learn new things for my family šŸ™šŸ½

Great ideas! Might help to put plastic sheet protectors on outside of bins with contents. As you remove an item, scratch it off the list. When you refill, simply update the sheet and slip it back in the sheet protector. Have an awesome day!

Those containers are a BRILLIANT idea!!! Homestead Heart's video on how to can butter turned me on to canning a couple months ago. Since then I've canned butter (1st item canned), hamburger, Italian sausage, fresh pineapple, pulled pork, pork stock, pork burrito in a jar, pork loin, taco flavored pork, pinto beans, beef roast, and dry canned potatoes. Whew! Next on my list is to can cranberry juice. I am an ADDICT for sure and have run out of space. I've resorted to cleaning out cabinets and donating my stuff in order to make room for jars. Jars everywhere! LOL. Thanks for the entertaining and informative video leadfarmer73. I've also become addicted to watching you and Homestead Heart.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES EXACTLY What I've been telling my family!!! I am canning so we can grab and go if we need to!! I'm in the middle of a busy city so I full well intend to have to get the heck out of here when TSHTF!!! I have not seen those flat black totes so I am definitely going to look into those. My kids know which tubbies to grab and load first and they are marked with BS misleading labels. "home schooling grade 2", Christmas decorations, Wrapping paper etc just misleading labels to that I know what they are but others don't!!

Unc Lead, you are too much! šŸ˜‚ I'm like you, trying to find ways to safely store my jars while running out of places to put them. This is a good idea.

Hello im andrea from SC. Canning is very addictive. I have been canning for a few years. This time of year is when i can my potatoes. They go on sale at the stores because of the holidays. I just did 50 quarts for about $18. haveing potatoes in jars is a staple at our house.

I finally got brave enough to start canning 4 years ago. The peace of mind you have when you walk into your pantry is almost overwhelming. Good for ya'll.
  • @slowlivingjane
Wow very well organised. Wonderful tips and thanks for your crazy humour. šŸ˜‚

Good morning, Lead family! I got my All American pressure canner! Now I just got to break him in! Yes, Lead! My canner is a "he"! Lol! I've got my jars on shelving, so far. I do have totes, though. And I also have home dehydrated vegetables and fruits, so far. I've purchased dehydrated dairy.
