Hey guys, little perspective. Im a long haul freighter pilot that typically travels out of an airport to where ever 2x a month. I used to think it was necessary to live near an airport, as it seemed more useful. As a traveler we often romanticize being close to an airport as it will mean we are more likely to travel. After all is said and done, you're really not saving any time, and in fact paying more, with a closer proximity to an airport, as they are typically associated with a major city. My advice is to pick a plot of land you love, not being compromised by the location to an airport. Unless your traveling 2-3 times a week, the savings and hassle are negligible, if not more expensive.

🌴 Ahhh, foraging in the woods taking time to enjoy hot pools , roasted meat on the fire , and the romance 👍🏼😄
  • It’s always the dilemma with pets; freedom versus unconditional love🥺

Thank you for linking that wearable sleeping bag. 100% getting one for my girl. Petite redhead who is perpetually cold. You just got me some brownie points! 😂

Beautiful, serene, and peaceful video. I know there was more to the video than that, but this brought peace to me in a very busy life. Most importantly, y'all found time to spend with each other. Something my wife and I need in a busy world with 5 children.

You know in my younger military days I have been to 3 actual, walking-on, places that you guys have been to. Some of the same beaches and coves. 👍🏼 Memphis, 10

Two regions to look into: 1. Oregon (where I live). Property can be found near the coast. Further North and you are closer to Portland International Airport. I know you mentioned your need to be in the sun... The thing is, over the past 20 years the climate has been changing dramatically. We of course see long periods of rain and snow in many areas but they pass and we have enjoyed a much warmer summer and fall within the past 8 years. I was born in Santa Cruz, CA and my DNA is truly in need of sun exposure in order to thrive. With exercise & vitamin D/K2 supplement I am not suffering. Added bonuses; exceptional fishing opportunities, all of the coast beaches are accessible to the public (unlike CA) crabbing is open 365 days each year, and in the NW portion of Oregon we have amazing Razor Clamming opportunities. Oh and, having been a chef myself, the Willamette Valley is like no other region I have ever seen. The close proximity of exceptional foods and the affordability of said foods is incomparable. I get my beef from a family farm, my own chickens lay amazing eggs, and many farms offer CSA subscriptions. 2. Puget Sound in Washington. There are opportunities to purchase land that won't completely break you financially. Your unique position in the YouTube world affords you potential to make any land acquisition into useful content. My family and I have considered relocating to areas such as Port Townsend or Sequim. We have friends who have a private island in West Vancouver B.C. and the potential to live much closer is very enticing (for us). Weather is indeed a bigger concern that far North though - but - I am one of those weirdos who had been studying our climate changes and weather patterns since 1990 and many of the things that myself and other like minded folks have been foreseeing are coming to fruition. That said, a move to the Pacific NW sooner, rather than later, may save you from the frantic larger scale migration that will likely be coming in the future from states to the south (California, Nevada, etc.) I won't be traveling so the concern that pets or livestock can't be left behind is a non-issue but I would hope that you may be able to establish yourself in a community where people would be willing to help (as my experience with rural living over the years has found the best neighbors anyone could ever ask for). Life is short. Do what it is that has the potential to make your heart sing and your soul shine. Cheers!

I’m not the only one seeing a future split up, not a trip but a break.
