Batman has taken in a lot of sidekicks who took on the Robin mantle.
Dick Grayson
Tim Drake
Stephanie Brown
Damian Wayne

But for me, there is one who stands above the rest.
Find out why Jason Todd is the BEST Robin.

  • "Jason Todd's dead and I can't stop laughing!" Out of all the Robins, Jason was always the most interesting to me. He had the makings of a hero and had a good heart, but was always hindered by the chip on his shoulder due to his upbringing. While he may not have been the easiest person to work with, Jason was a hero that was always raring to help whenever he can. What makes him fascinating to me is that even when he is revived and has grown hostile to Batman, he reworked the Red Hood identity as a superhero and set off to stop crime on his own. Even though his methods were drastic, the good nature of Jason still persisted under all the damage and hurt he has experienced.
  • Tim Drake will always be my favorite robin, but what Jason represents as robin is great. He represented the harshness of what Gothem did to its youth, a shitty upbringing causing him many issues but you could understand why he turned out this way. Seeing him as robin trying to do good is admirable and yes he wasn't always the perfect partner, he was still trying his best to be a hero. Although IMO Jason really became much more fascinating after coming back as Red hood than he was during his tenure as robin
  • Ironically Jason having been killed by Joker ended up greatly helping so yes do Red Hood. Jason might've just been cut out of the DCAU as his death was pretty brutal and it's one of the now most iconic comic deaths ever

I haven’t read too much of Jason’s time as Robin, but reading his death surprised me. I had gotten the impression that he was unlikeable and that his time as Robin wasn’t influential enough to be remembered well. However, even though Jason isn’t my favorite Robin, his death was one of the few moments in reading comics that I teared up. All he wanted to do was find his mother, and even after finding her and being betrayed by her, his first instinct after getting nearly beaten to death is to save her. It was actually pretty inspiring and not what I would have expected from the stereotypes I’ve heard about the character prior.
  • Please don't stop your channel, it's vids like this that prove how good you are. Even when we disagree, I love hearing what you have to say. You're funny, informative, the kind of channel you could listen to any time and any place. You mean a lot to us, man, and while I obviously respect any decision you make, know that people DO value your content!

Man imagine if they did use Jason in the animated series. They could've revitalized the character and he could've been a better fan favorite.

"Tim Drake" on BATMAN: TAS is effectively Jason Todd. They used the name of the current Robin to avoid confusion and perhaps not telegraph a predestined tragic ending. I liked that "street kid" background mixed with comic-book Tim's fannish appreciation of Batman and the original Robin. And BATMAN BEYOND: RETURN OF THE JOKER is my favorite version of a "death of Robin."

He was actually originally brought back by Superboy primes punch until the Lazerous Pit retcon

I am a big fan of Jason and Red Hood and when I saw this title I immediately thought about that great song from Arkham Knight
  • I really like what they did with Jason in the Under the Red Hood storyline.

I like that Jason was just a younger Bruce and was just angry and if Joker didn't crowbar him I wonder if he'd eventually mellow out or if he'd get fired and become red hood regardless.

I think one thing that is underrated about jason is the impact he had on bruce even when he was robin. When the cult priest had totured and broken batman it was jason near death that reignited his will to fight. Even in the events of knightfall right before bane broke batman back bruce was ready to give up until he saw jason old Robin suit and pushed him to fight.
  • @Outer_Halo
Always been my fav robin, before I even knew about red hood. Then he was even cooler

Personally his whole problem child aspect was something that I someone liked even though admittedly I only came in after Arkham but one of the things that I like that I wish they would do more is also show how Jason actually had a good relationship with Alfred and some of the bat family and Bruce one of my favorite moments I think out of his own run was when Mr Freeze almost killed him in all it took for Batman to know how serious it was was for him to call for Bruce I loved how that was such a big thing under the idea that moment kind of sums up their relationship as him and red hood see that they genuinely care for each other but also are so distant to the point where calling for one another is such a out there thing but it's like out there because they're so close but won't show it to the point where it takes Batman a back at the idea that Jason explicitly called for him to help him

  • @astarr3867
I just need all the Robin's to come together for a Gotham ending events while Bruce is unconscious for a week 😂 maybe I'm asking for alot
  • @proteinbean
Personally Tim Drake is my favorite robin. I enjoy Jason but I feel like recently the character has been more one note. He’s still a great character tho.

Hey, Vee Infuso. Maybe you could make a video about the differences between Jason Todd and Damian Wayne. That would be an interesting video.
