Rest in peace, Miki. Your song still got something even in 2024 and you should be proud of it. Arigatto.

This song is way better than whats on the radio nowadays in my opinion
  • Are we all just stumbling to this song at the same time or what. All the comments are so recent it seems

according to what ive read, miki matsubara died believing her life was a waste, and that she was ashamed of her musical career bc she didnt think anybody cared or that she ever made an impact. its absolutely heartbreaking. i may only know her for this song, but its just so groovy and addictive, and her voice is beautiful. i hope wherever this wonderful womans soul rests, she can see how much ppl love her art. and i hope she feels proud of herself, bc she deserves it.
  • It sucks that she didn't live to see the massive ressurgence in popularity the song has had these past few years. She would have been 63 today, I would have loved to see her sing this live. Rest In Peace Matsubara-san.

Seems like everybody decided to listen to it just now.

  • @TnS260
For anyone curious or confused. This is Miki Matsubara, she is a Japanese singer and is considered one of the greatest, especially for this piece. She sadly died in 2004 due to complications with cancer, but is still listened and admired in todays current times. RIP.
  • @ggttwwpp7655
are we ignoring the fact that she has the best smile and is cute and beautiful on every photo?
  • @WhatIsThatBruh
I feel guilty listening to this lovely woman’s music after she retired and didn’t want her music to be listened to anymore…But I can’t help coming back to listening to this all the time…R.I.P this truly lovely woman who created a masterpiece.
