In the 1980's, if a car had over 400 horsepower, that was a LOT. Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche all made cars that could go fast, but not by today's standards. Then Willy Koenig went nuts on a Ferrari Testarossa, reinforcing the engine, adding turbochargers, intercoolers, and the widest of body kits (designed by Vittorio Strosek). Only 21 Koenig Competition Evo Twin-Turbos were built, but even driving one today, 35 years later, you can understand the appeal. At four times the price of a standard Testarossa, this is the wildest Ferrari tuner car of all time!

I have never seen Zack so terrified to ride shotgun before XD
  • @loopydoopi
This is the car you see in old vhs tapes and magazines but never expect it to be reviewed on YouTube.
  • @ians2868
I’ve never clicked on a smoking tyre video so quick. Loved these as a child. It seemed so much cooler than an f40😂
  • @DOWDFILMS1
TR owners: Car slow, need more fast. Keonig: Understood.
  • @TonyZXT
This was the poster car on my bedroom wall as a kid. It NEEDS to be on the same track as a RUF, and a Calloway Sledgehammer! Make that happen!
  • @qwerty2590
It is kind of great that this experience was filmed. This vehicle being older and rare it might be years or decades again before an owner lets a journalist fully test drive a car like this. Not just talked about and walked around in a collection or museum.
  • @nabatron21
Matt trying to keep it together for the sponsor! “It sucks it blows” lolololol😂
  • 3:25 when you're hitting 40, and your body 'does something' but then the issue goes away "well, it's gone now, I'm sure it'll be fine!"
  • @-PLAYER0NE-
God I'm amazed that this car has survived this long. Must've just been sitting in a collection. 1000HP is 1987 is fucking bananas but that v12 with the quintessential 80s turbo noises.. chefs kiss

For those who don't know, one of these, a RUF, and the Callaway Sledgehammer were top speed tested in a magazine back then, I believe it was a special exotic magazine run by Road and Track(not sure but I believe I still own it, lol). The RUF was the slowest at 211mph, then one of these did in fact do about 232mph, and of course the Sledgehammer did 254.7mph.
  • @Petrospect
That B pillar trim on Zack’s side is disintegrating and that just about says it all 😂 But Matt’s ballsy for the drive-by shots, that thing’s MOVING
  • @bartowsanta6313
I remember Koenig did a black testarossa quad turbo that was awesome. He also did a Jaguar and Mercedes with wide body kits that looked amazing.
  • @kennyray116C
Köenig, Gemballa, Strosek, Braubus, owned the 80's! 🙌🏽
  • @bryanbusch6419
This is infinitely cooler and more terrifying than any hypercar. I’m glad it still exists and can be driven as intended.
  • @Ivannos92
Off all the cars youve ever recorded and driven, hypercars included, this felt the fastest even on video. I cant imagine what it mustve felt like in the late 80s putting the foot down in 3rd at max boost in this, ballistic, love it
  • @SwapBlogRU
What an odd looking car. If you don't know what you're looking at - I feel like you might confuse this with a replica.
  • @HJW018
600K in 1987? That must have been one hell of a sales pitch to get those customers to fork out 200K more than a F40 cost at the same time, for a Testarossa.
  • @bullcub2280
There is a warning light that says "FIRE", that is the greatest Ferrari feature I have ever seen. Should be standard on all models forever.
