The thing about from software games is that yes the bosses are hard, but once you beat them the fun part becomes finding other ways to beat them again, at least in elden ring its fun to make up new builds and go at it with them

I remember ppaying Hades for the first time a few months ago and getting addicted to idea of being able to upgrade just a little bit at the end of every run just to get a tiny bit further. It made every single part of the game feel rewarding even down to buyong a new house decoration.

Totally agree, it's what made me love the Megaman games as a kid (X series in particular) & why Sifu was my GOTY for 2022. I do have an issue with Rogue games where I have to restart from the beginning though as once I beat an area & especially it's boss I wish I could continue from that point like how games used to be. I don't find value in repeating a remixed version every time & it ends up feeling like a way to pad out a game to take more of my time, thereby disprecting my time as a player. It's why I loved Sifu, I didn't have to replay levels. However as I found jew shortcuts & got better at the game I could choose to go back & beat it at a younger age to allow myself a better starting point for the next level.

I have a different take on this: In easy games, you can get away with doing whatever you want, so there is no impact with your actions. But when difficulty rises, you can't get away with doing whatever you want, so it brings in this balance where some decisions will give you results you want while other choices simply do not work in the given situation. This means that some actions are now gameplay mistakes, and making too many of those will give you the game over screen. But picking the correct options enough times in a row until you get victory is very similar to the problem solving process. It's a rewarding feeling when you successfully complete a difficult challenge, because you have a very clear indicator of progression of your skills. There is a relieving catharsis associated with difficult video games.

The beginning of the video reminds me of people who say the souls games need an easy mode I laughed

That high you get from killing isshin cant be beat. Easy games do have their place though, I wont be banging my head against a difficult game after a stressful day. You deserve more subs, keep up the good work!

I really like difficulty in games, but man when difficulty is just a slider for HP and DMG or just copy and paste more enemies I just get beyond bored after a while, is it really harder or is it just asking you to be more repetitive at what you are already doing. I'd much prefer if by increasing difficulty you had to change how you approach certain situations, like let say how in Diablo enemy gets a buff that entangles you if you get hit and like in Ninja gaiden sigma/black when there are literally on fire and rolling into you to stagger you with a burning effect, or enemy could get a consumable that they could throw to change the battlefield to their favour like in BG or DOS.
  • Ay, sekiro is the crowning jewel. No gimmicks, no need for endless buffs, no cheap crap, just you and the moves you’re given. Absolute fantastic take. Too bad they dropped the ball with elden ring

If something is easy to do then it's not worth doing

You know you don’t have to actually hold a microphone for the type of video you do lol
