Pretty cool just seeing a random Burke class destroyer hanging out in this British battle group.

love the recognition on the kitchen crew, lifeline of the ship certainly.
  • Nice to see that our allies, the Royal Navy is still out there doing their thing. Cheers from Canada. We need to step up our game in the Arctic too. We all need to keep an eye out for Russian shenanigans.

"as good or better than us", there's a line I never expected to hear from the lips of a Royal Navy captain (I guess I have been reading too much C.S.Forester)

They seem so nice, the British navy. So polite.

The three stripes on the collar represent Nelsons three Battles, the Silk represents the the head band worn by sailors who used to wear tar in the hair (Jack Tars), the lanyard was an homage to the RN gunners, what's missing is the two hills and a valley on their collars which represented the lifting of the siege of Ladysmith when Naval Guns were transported over land. There are others that skip my mind, such as the Bow on the cap tally over the left ear and why the white caps were once referred to as Port and Starboards, I know that to look inside one you would see Red on one side and a white stripe down the middle and the other side green. The Bell bottoms could also be used as a floatation device.

The youngsters need to quit crying about not having their phone access. Outstanding video.

What disturbs me is that they say this is "one of the few" submarine hunters, and with all due respect this ship is old. The British need to WAKE up and build up the NAVY becaue it isn't just Russia that is the threat!
