Thankfully the design of the locos involved seems to have held up and likely played a part in how serious (not serious) the injuries were. For those wondering why crash tests are a thing, that right there is your answer!

From what I have heard about the wreck. Mostly from people and scanner. Signals were out due to maintenance making PTC offline. MOW crew said the switch was lined for the main which was incorrect. Causing the Collision. As of now the MOW crew is at fault. Very similar to the Cayce Collision

My childhood home was right next to the railroad tracks in Woods Hole, Mass., the end of the line for the New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad. I've been fascinated by trains all my life and wish I'd become a Lady train Engineer! Thank you, Virtual Railfan!
