I need a part two. I NEED IT. Also the singer in weight of the world, at the end she was actually crying. The producer liked it so much they kept it in.

Every single time I hear the Weight of the world, everything just comes flooding back. "Do you think games are silly little things?", "Is it all pointless?". it's been about 7 years.

Weight of the World is probably one of the best video game songs ever composed, in my opinion. Everyone's gonna say this, but yeah, those were real tears the singer was crying at the end, it's incredibly emotional.
  • @AkrimaSablosang
The Japanese singer for Weight of the world was crying from emotions for half the song, This was never intended. they decided to keep it as is.

What blows my mind about how the NieR music was made is that we have a Japanese composer, with his Japanese team, coaching a British singer on how to emote on their made-up language. It's mindblowing

Years later... and this OST still hits like a ton of onions...

"Haunting. Sorrowful. Absolutely gut wrenching." 9S approves of this message.
  • For weight of the world the best version is the final version it starts with 8bit then it switches between English and Japanese and it ends with a beautiful chorus

Most of the lyrics of these songs do not come from a real language The singer Emi Evans, who has been part of this series for a while and has provided vocals for many songs in this video, was tasked by the composer to help create lyrics in a made up language, the “Chaos Language“ The idea is that it is supposed to sound like an actual language taking influences from many real existing languages but ultimately the lyrics don’t mean anything

“A Beautiful Song” is my favorite song from the entire soundtrack. Yes, it is two different singers in that one. The first is Emi Evans who is the lead vocalist for most of the songs in the game. The second singer is J'Nique Nicole she is also the vocalist of “Memories of Sand” (a track you haven’t heard yet) and she sings the English version of “Weight of the World”

Nier Automata is a beautiful game that breaks you. The song themself are powerful but combine with your actions and contex. Its something to experience.

Highly recommend checking out Neir Replicant’s OST as well, it’s the prior game in the series and has some incredible themes, many of which later appeared in Automata.
  • fun fact:when weight of the world pops up in the game ending you can hear a version singed by all the development team and yoko taro himself too
  • @kibidevil00
there are indeed three different singers Emi Evans she sang "Vague Hopes", and developped the chaos language with composer Keiichi Okabe J'Nique Nicole who sings mostly in english and chaos and sang with Emi Evans on "A Beautiful Song" and last Nami Nakagawa who sings in japanese the "Weight of the World" one For Emil (despair) it's a kid's chorus I think I also reccomend you hear "Weight of the World/the End of YoRHa" all three singers sing together in japanese, english and Chaos

I absolutely need a part two including NieR Replicant OST, you truly need to listen Kaine Salvation, Emil Sacrifice, Shadowlord, Song of the Ancients and Gods Bound by Rules, I swear you will not regret at all

Nier Automata is arguably the best game i have ever played. The soundtrack is master class, but everything in the game is. Story 10/10. World design 10/10. Characters 10/10. Gameplay 10/10. A must play game. Criminally under rated. Nier Replicant (ver 1.22) sound track is arguably even better than Automata if not equal. You WILL cry if you play Nier Replicant 😂 loved the video
  • @lincelink
"Weight of the World" is amazing as a song but, if you play the game and reach that final moment, it is just... PFFFF. I can't describe it. I was crying, laughting and trying to play it while rubbing my eyes and my hands was shaking hahaha. One of the best, BEST, experiences I ever had playing anything
  • @MeruKami
For the story about Weight of the world, the singtress cry for real She let herself be overwhelmed by the emotions of the music. Basically Keiichi Okabe wanted her to start her take again but Yoko Taro firmly asked that this one be kept and it is very clearly the best choice that was made

NieR:Automata is head and shoulders above most other soundtracks out there, certainly one of the best of all time. I was blown away by the way they made recorded it dynamically in multiple tracks, so the game could seamlessly shift between quiet background, forefront, and intense battle versions of every track. I can just listen to the multidisc soundtrack over and over.
