Aleister Crowley was one of the most bizarre, fascinating, and mysterious figures of the 20th century. Known in his own time as "the wickedest man in the world," Crowley equally attracted and repulsed his contemporaries. From spiritualism and writing to mountain climbing, yoga, and the occult, Crowley left his mark on many different facets of life. But he is perhaps most famous - or infamous - for his controversial, influential beliefs.

I wish Anthony Hopkins could have played Alistair Crowley like back in the 80s-90s he would have been great for that role

I think the way to make make a Crowley movie would be to portray his magickal practices in a dualistic sense. Basically, to present the occultist notions in a light to make one question if the magick was real or an illusion to the point where the movie could have two completely different stories within the same story depending on the perspective of the observer.

Thelemite here. Not the worst take on 666. I was expecting more sensationalism. There's a bit more nuance to Crowley's attainment of Adeptus Minor, but you hit the gist of it. The whole story of the reception of the Book of the Law is somewhat iffy, as there's conflicting ship records regarding when Crowley was in Cairo. Also originally Crowley titled the Book of the Law as Liber L. He didn't switch it it to AL until Frater Achad hit the scene. Do What Thou Wilt does not mean "you do you" exactly. A bit more complicated than that. I won't speak on the A.'.A.'. but there's more to it than that. The Choronozon bit has more nuance as well, see Liber 418. I'm likely wasting my time writing all this, but for whatever it's worth.

Subscribed. You said you'd like to know which real-life horror stories I'd like to see next.... do something on Ed Gein, the Wisconsin anomaly. I read a story once he was possessed by an ancient German demon called "Der Hacker"
