    Crooks was a Marxist; he had some interest in Lee Harvey Oswald who never registered as a voter and was not affiliated with any political party, although Oswald was a self-professed Marxist and supported the Castro regime in Cuba. However, while in the Soviet Union, Oswald did express supporting Texas Governor John Connally and was willing to vote for him. So Crooks' party affiliation doesn't mean squat. Oswald also had mixed feelings towards JFK. According to Priscilla McMillan, a friend of Oswald’s wife. Which could lean towards Crooks having mixed feelings about Trump as well, too.
