Goldfish Observatory

We upgraded our inside tank to 140Ltr and placed the 75ltr tank upside down in the pond in a structure that enables the Goldfish to swim in - sucked out the air which created a vacum that drew the water into the tank. The Goldfish love it - they choose to swim into the tank and the pond (20ft long x 4ft width and about 2 ft deep) is always there for them to swim back into. The entrance of tank is 60cm x 30cm and a foot clearance of structure below where it is weighted by bricks to secure structure holding tank to pond floor..
We also have a cookie jar inverted in pond that has a plate for Sparrows to bath in. We have found that they use both the cookie jar and tank even at night. We do not feed them the pond only and not in either inverted space as concerned the goldfish pellets may create issues if not eaten. I do place water hose in tank to force fresh water in there - the ecology of the pond is very healthy so don't really need to do this.
