Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has slapped a ban on Philippine offshore gaming operators during his third State of the Nation Address. He ordered online casinos to stop their offshore gaming operations by the end of the year. Mr Marcos accused the firms of engaging in illegal activity, including financial scams and human trafficking. Mr Marcos also addressed tensions in the South China Sea. He said the Philippines "cannot yield" in territorial disputes, but added that Manila remains willing to work with China. Buena Bernal reports.

The international law is very clear on the South China Sea: - parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries including the Philippines 🇵🇭, - the rest of it is the international water, - no part of it belongs to China🇨🇳 or Taiwan🇹🇼.

Well done. Too many mainland Chinese. Have to prevent Philippines from becoming the next Myanmar or Laos or Cambodia.

The Philippines has a lot of oil in their EEZ, they don't need those dirty money from China. Just get the Chinese out of their EEZ and start exploiting oil. 👍👍👍

This is one the areas Macros should focus on instead of military confrontation with China just to please the US.

Assistant secretary Murphy in the 1950s said that Filipinos have absolutely no legal claim to Spratly islands but it is in US interest to encourage them to make claims to keep the commies at bay.
