What it says up there. Fixing loose valve/tube bases with petrol or gasoline.

I have used furnace cement to reglue the bases and it works great on the top caps, I have never had one come loose after. . I have never used gasoline/petrol. Super glue works but it may not work well in heat conditions.

Interesting thumbnail again. Clever idea, I would never have thought of that. What about some high temperature adhesive?

Interesting - thanks. I tend to use Aleene's tacky glue from the USA as it is water soluable and a little flexible. Super glue is probably best avoided as it doesn't have the 'give' required for the repeated heating and cooling cycles?
