my quarter life crisis

It's been 10 years since I graduated high school and for whatever reason that realization has me questioning every choice I've made in my adult life. Where do I go from here? xx

NOTE: I just want to comment on something that maybe didn't come across as clearly as I would've liked it to. I DO believe that some couples can be happy together forever. But I think that that level of compatibility paired with commitment is rare and is getting more rare as time passes by. I mean, these days it seems as if many people are choosing to be with the wrong person for all the wrong reasons (fear of being alone, comfort, support, pressure from society, suppressing reality/convincing themselves they're happy, etc). I personally refuse to be a part of that! I think that you should be happy in your relationship at least 80% of the time and if you're not, than it is likely not the right fit (and more effort than what it's worth). But that's not to say that there aren't some relationships worth fighting for! I haven't given up on the idea of a life partner. I just personally think that maybe the model needs to be re-worked to catch up with the times. I don't think a relationship should be based on obligation or possessiveness. It should be more about choice and freedom, thus, appreciation and desire. Just my thoughts.

people still act like they're in highschool in their late 30's, so no worries.

Homegirl, get outttt of LA. You'll find that the world is not as superficial and dramatic as you think. Long term friendships and relationships based on love ARE possible.

As someone a few years older than you that had a 20-something life crisis, you wake up one day and realize it's all in your head. My advice is worth nothing but it's this: find something to keep you really busy (job/hobby/etc), embrace love instead of push it away, and volunteer for something you are passionate about. Helped me a ton.

Okay but is no one talking about the SHADE in the last part of the video?? I won't be needing sunglasses for a LONG time

If you are so passionate about education and learning why don't you get involved in helping people who don't have access to education? That could be a really nice life focus for you, helping others so they can feel the same way about learning as you do

Just to offer some hope - 10 year marriage here, 12 years together. Two young kids. Military life (multiple moves, multiple deployments...) Incredibly happy. Satisfied. Sex on average 6-7 days a week, willingly and happily. It's possible. It takes work, but a long term, happy relationship is totally possible! It's easy to be head over heels with someone you respect, admire, and find attractive. If you don't, you will always be looking for what your partner DOESNT do or DOESNT have. And with that perspective you'll never be fulfilled in a relationship.

Has anyone else been watching her since she worked at Hooters and was in college?

Get out of LA, stop moving too fast in a relationship I.e moving in together after a couple of months even thought it feels so perfect cuz every relationship has the honeymoon phase. Take ur time, ppl treat relationships so wrong nowadays, that's why no one can find a lasting partner.
  • If relationships weren't supposed to be monogamous, what's the point? I'd hate the thought of jumping from one person to the next without connecting with that one special someone on a personal level. Just my thoughts.
  • Happiness in terms of pleasure isn't sustainable- even if you experience it often, it's fleeting. I think working toward being at peace is a healthier, more realistic goal. Happiness and pleasure will pop in, of course, and sadness and stress, but peace should be home.

Is anyone here from her recent video? I feel so much for her right now. It’s like she took a step back then taking a step forward. 😢

Being monogamous doesn't mean "you're mine," it's a choice that you make to dedicate yourself to one person ( both partners) out of not only sexual attraction and comparability, but out of mutual care and love for one another. We all may feel sexual attraction to someone else even after being in a committed relationship, but what separates us from animals is that we don't follow our urges blindly without thinking thought. Pleasure and happiness are 2 different things. You can feel momentary pleasure that leaves you ultimately unhappy, yet happiness can give you pleasure which is pure, when you follow not only your urges, but your conscious. I believe you can never give " too much " to someone you truly love, but maybe you were giving yourself in the wrong ways to your partner. Although being married, my husband and I see our separate friends 2-3 times a week, and we maintain our own activities and interests regularly, you do have to sacrifice but not the things that make you happy.

Maybe you should explore more, try to travel to different places, putting the camera down and letting go. Embrace what life has to offer and maybe it could inspire you or move you into the direction you've been looking for.
  • I don't know the answer to any of these question except one! YES, you should adopt more cats!
  • @MightyHungry
Kalel, you have a lot of confirmation bias going on. If you hung out with a lot of crack heads, you'd think most people are drug addicts (which isn't the case). Because your friends have dysfunctional relationships, you think that's the norm. It's not. You just need to hang out with a different crowd to shift your perspective on things.

I think your passion lies in your veganism and your cooking, your cooking videos are always so pleasant and you seem to have a knack at it. Maybe you should write a cookbook. Or teach online cooking classes via your YouTube. Definitely do more of your What I Eat in a Days because you always shine in those.
