Strange ... this video seems to come from a lip-synched performance, most likely in a rehearsal hall, set to the original master recording audio. Thing is, neither John Hall nor I, Lance Hoppen, have ANY recollection of doing this ... at all !!! Well, after all ... it WAS the 70s! :-) We stumbled upon it by chance and just HAD to import it into our own channel. It was posted by a TV station in the Netherlands, where we've had a strong following since the 1st album in 1973.

The classic "Waking & Dreaming"-era band lineup was Larry Hoppen (lead vocal, guitar), John Hall (guitar, vocals, songwriter), Lance Hoppen (bass, vocals), Wells Kelly (Fender Rhodes piano, bass vocal), Jerry Marotta (drums).

My wife and I had our first date 44 years ago. She was the one then, and 5 kids and 10 grandkids later she's still the one. We've always sung this song to each other. Love the message and the harmonies.

If I remember correctly, ABC used this song in September 1976 in the promotional ads for the new seasons programming. It was a great song that got tons of radio play but seeing it on the ABC commercials really pounded it into our heads.🙂
