Glad you like our race. And yes, that humidity was brutal. Nowhere near your speed, so it got even worse as the sun came out.

I ran flying fur and the full. Flying Fur was more brutal than the full for me. It was so humid on Saturday with virtually no breeze and of course my dog wanted to sprint the race. After flying fur I ended up going for a shake out run, did about 12 miles. It nearly killed me, but dealing with that level of humidity on Saturday afternoon prepared me very well for Sunday’s full. Ended up getting a PR! I guess I just needed that acclimation because I felt great during Sunday’s race

Nice review! I ran my first marathon with a time of 4 hours at the Pig. I was aiming for 3:30… Course conditions (hot, humid & difficult course) + my conditions (feeling nauseous and lethargic) added up to substantially slower than expected finishing time. I love the event having done the half marathon a couple times previously and the 5k as well.

I did the full…. Didn’t really feel the heat till mile 15 but that was definitely the slowest I’ve ever ran 26 miles… also saw at lest 15 people drop on the way as well.

I hit the grass with 4.5 km left in the marathon. Significantly slower than what I was aiming for (4:10... Was at 4:30 at that point). The humidity did me in, I came from the north where we ran in pants and long sleeves a week and a half beforehand. Learned my lesson on this one. Marathon #6 was a DNF.. oh well!
