One of the best diffusers is 'Have I caught you in the middle of anything?'. It respects their time, is not pushy and works 99% of the time. They either say 'no, that's fine', 'yes but I have a few minutes', etc. Very rarely do they fob you off.

Biggest tip: was taught this years ago when speaking to people but “no one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care” have an actual desire to help their business not just a paycheck
  • what helped me was when you said adopt a "fuck it mentality, whatever will be will be", I think that helps gets rid of the pressure we put on ourselves.
  • My first sales role I was 16. I was trembling with fear every, single, call - I could barely string a sentence together without crumbling and forgetting my sales script (it was literally a script) - I had a chat with my manager one day and he told me to create urgency, call them and tell them these memberships are selling like "hot cakes" and if you want one, then get it while you can. I picked up the phone and told one of my Opportunities that "these cakes are selling fast and they're hot so if you want it come and get it"........ 😅😂😂😂😂😂 That line along with my trembling voice fell flat on its arse. Long story short I was sacked later that day. I'm 32 now and still in sales, that experience didn't put me off but I've definitely learnt the importance of being selective about what you're selling.
  • Keep your list full of qualified leads & never forget that every no puts you closer to that yes.

My biggest tip is to let them know that the scheduled meeting is 100% free with no obligations and that if they do not wish to proceed after meeting that's absolutely fine, that my main objective is to give them as much value as possible in a meeting. Jordan your an absolute legend, hope one day we can meet.

I really enjoyed this from an introverts perspective
  • It's really important to keep going even if one gets rejected by the business, it's more about the journey and not about the destination. If one like want he does, automatically the destination comes to him.
  • Your energy is amazing. Im going to come to watch this video before start making phone calls

My manager sent me your video on my first day at work. So worth it! I typically comment on videos at what point the author of a video actually begins the valuable portion of content in their video (rambling is the worst!), but I have watched this all the way through and I highly suggest everyone else coming here absolutely watches it all the way through! Worth every second of the 23 minutes :D

Take a bow sir. Well delivered and great content. A great reminder for someone whos been in the business for 20 years.

My biggest tip would be to "act as if" when you're on the call, and for that matter when you're doing anything related to your business! You want to act as if you already have the success which you desire. This will carry over (much like the smiling tip you gave) into your activities and give the businesses on the other end of the phone the impression that you are a successful company whom they would benefit from doing business with!
  • This one is a literal LIFE SAVER!!!! Thanks Jordan, this will help me so much.

Great video Jordan, My biggest tip would be to get your tone of voice correct. On a cold call they can’t see you so your voice is the most powerful tool to communicate your personality & body language. Also to always smile when your on the phone helps with the mindset. Loving this series!
  • As a new business administrator at my current company, I must confess that cold calling has been a challenge to me lately. I am so excited to come across these useful tips. Thanks alot Jordan.
  • Really great video the energy Jordan gives off is enough to fire you up to go get busy cold calling right away!!!

I love cold calling. Btw, for folks with fear of failure, this is a sign of anxiety. Depression is about the past, memories, anxiety is about the future. Anxiety predicts future "failure", whereas confidence predicts future "success". You get confidence by telling yourself you got this, and by learning the skill itself. Solidifying confidence itself in your brain comes from wins. Small wins. Closing one deal at a time. As long as you learn what to say, you're good. If you do fail to get sales, and end up getting more rejections and objections, you get to identify weak links, fix them, and make your business stronger. If you do get rejections often, this means you did not learn your lesson. Once a client rejects you, there's a reason why. And usually clients need you and your services, unless they already have a guy. Till then, they all need you. So if you keep messing up, if means you keep repeating something you should stop saying or doing. So do like Kobe and rewatch the games 2-3 times until you identify how you messed up and learn to not do it again. Every failure is an opportunity to reinforce your game to potentially reduce failures down the line, and instead raise your odds of wins from there on out. Always look forward for failures. Push your limits. It's like test-driving your boosted car down the road, you surely don't want it to break, but it's the only way to find its weak points. You get to find them, replace them, and start winning races. Same for business. Look forward to messing up. Don't worry too much about it. Make it fun. Enjoy it. And try not to do it for the money, do it to help your clients genuinely. Money will follow, inevitably. Btw, you never truly lose potential clients if you mess up a call, you get to call them back next month, and try again after making hundreds of cold calls, now that you're seasoned, and have more chances to close them since you're better at your game now. So again, have fun with it. Make that call. 💪💪
