AMAZING RESTORATION of Burl Wood Chest | Relaxing Furniture Restoration Video -no spoken words

Published 2022-06-14
This chest was almost useless due to broken drawer slides and the finish was badly damaged. Gratefully, the wood was in good condition.

I purchased this chest from the local Restore Store for Habitat for Humanity. It had been marked down to $6.

While I was working on it, a client stopped by to look at the credenza I had finished 2 weeks ago ( my most recent video). She loved the credenza and purchased it. However, when she saw this chest after I had stripped it, she offered to buy it for $350 provided I use Antique Walnut stain to match the credenza. ( I can't help but wonder if she would have wanted to buy it if she saw it before it was stripped!)

I think you will be amazed at the final results! I know I was.

This entire video has no spoken words- only shops sounds.

I love seeing pieces like this be restored. So many people nowadays are into shabby chic and decoupage, and that would do no justice to such a beautiful piece of furniture. Well done. it's stunning ❣️🙏
  • I love the quiet calmness of this video. No constant talking to interrupt the flow. Thank you.

OOOh wow,... this is so beautiful the transformation is incredible. I hope you got a great price for all the work and effort you put into restoring his gorgeous piece of art!
  • ❤❤❤❤Just LOVELY!!!! As much as I LOVE Chalk Paint, I'm soooooo GLAD you didn't do that to this piece!!!! If you did, no one could see the BEAUTIFUL PATTERN IN THE WOOD!!!!
  • Oh my word…that is absolutely stunning!! It is so amazing to see what people would deem a “piece of junk” brought back to life again to be used and enjoyed for years to come. Great job! 👊🏼😁
  • I love that you restore with just nature making a noise instead of music , thank you❤
  • Wow!! I wish had that dresser! It is beautiful, with the wood grain and the walnut stain it is gorgeous! Good job!

Thank you for not covering this beautiful grain. It’s so pretty!
  • Nice job! But that is not Burl wood. It has some really beautiful figure. Burl wood comes from a knot that grows in a ball or bump on a tree. They are amazingly beautiful especially when they have chatoyance.
  • Это великолепное поеображение.Вы самая ,самая замечательная реставратор.Сколько души и труда вложено в вашу работу.Спасибо вам за классное видео.Ваш труд безценен.❤❤❤❤❤
  • I saw one guy on YouTube who refinishes furniture, he has a set of stainless steel dental picks for removing paint and finishes from small areas like the florals on the corners of that piece, seems to work well. Beautiful job again.👍👍👍👍

I love the quiet of the video. No music. Just the sound of rain. Great work on the chest!
  • The blood was a gross-out moment but you marched on like a trooper! Speaking of gross, have you ever dealt with worm word holes in wood furniture? I have a 200 year old French armoire that has loads of them and don’t know if it can be salvaged! I feel sick about it. I also noticed several of the same tiny holes on a solid maple bed frame. I’m enjoying being a new subscriber - seeing old beauties brought back to life is a joy.

You took this from crime scene to beauty queen lol! Lovely work- it’s gorgeous!
  • I have a piece of furniture that has a lot of carvings on it too. I was fearful of using a wire brush with the wood stripper to remove the stain. I was worried it would scratch up and ruin the carving. What kind of wire brush is the one that you use?
