I love the “that’s a different number in imperial.” I’m in the states thinking, “Great, so it weighs about not 800 ounces” lol

Great tutorial! I would highly recommend too install smart socket to power on/off charging of the tablet and keep it charged between approximately 40-80% charged via an automation. Otherwise very high chance that always fully charged battery will die very quickly. Had 2 tablets failed, one nearly cracked the screens due to swollen battery. I am using Fully Kiosk Browser Plus on all my wall dashboards. Very future research Browser with motion detection on/off display and many more useful options!

Nice, I'm jealous and need to sort out something like that myself now. Thanks for sharing.
  • @Tntdruid
I did that whit my old Samsung Tab 👍

Gotten myself a Lenovo M8 gen4 which I am gonna use for a dashboard/panel/kiosk the screenpinning software is quite nice as you wouldn't need kiosk apps anymore, hope it still works with apps to automatically close/turn off the screen.

Very nice! I copied the link in case I get a chance to work on this.. Thank you!
  • Hi Lars. Thanks for the video. I read somewhere else on the internet, that there is an issue with the combination between the P11 and the frame from Smarthome mount. The frame should cover for the motion sensor, which means that the tablet doesn´t react on movements in kiosk mode. Do you have this issue?

Hey, thanks forv a very detailed video. I didnt really get what you exactly did after the installation of Kioskmode from HACS. Yoe have explaned the settings, but how did you manage to make it valid for a dashboard? The second is: the tablett is whole of the time on the power thru the cable. Its nit very good for the batterie, isnt it? Do you use something to interrupt the power to let the battery work, and after that to go back to power? Thx

What are you using for your water level sensor?. I have a R.O. System and would like more information on how to monitor my tanks level and also integrate into Home Assistant.
  • @SharpGIS
How are you going to prevent burn-in on the display? (Personally I wish there was a motion sensor that would automatically turn it on/off like the Ecobee thermostats do

Tips on pinning the app. Do you wake/sleep/leave your app always on?
  • @nickiminajwannabe
There's an app called Wallpanel which can do everything and without being so much hassle to set up
  • @trispretty
I'm new to all this... Why not use the android app over a browser view? Any pros/cons to either?
  • @TOMemorize
My samsung tab a8 always has to refresh when detecting motion. Does your dashboards have to do that too? I’m using the plus version of fully kiosk browser.

Does anyone know if it is possible to have an event change the layout of a dashboard or temporary change a client to a different one? I would for example like when someone rings the doorbell that the video feed shows up in Fullscreen on the dashboard untill there is no more movement for example, and then go back to the normal dashboard.

Cool trick here to cycle the battery charging to keep the battery from bloating: https://youtu.be/tb9Qe4fjt24?t=369 (6min in) Also a lot of other good tips. Combined that video with your tips for an awesome experience.

I'm jelous of this walls made of carton which you can basically cut with knife (living in a flat with concrete walls). Also I feel like you would not have to put a socket in a wall but use embedded power supply with type c cable output.
