never apologize for giving us a longer breakdown, Jimmy. Loved it!
  • As a Phils fan, this is the stuff we’ve longed for for almost a decade and a half. No matter what happens this week, this team has truly brought the love of the sport back to the city.
  • As someone who is new to baseball, I really appreciate you giving all the context with your analysis. The kinds of pitches you expect to see on the counts, what might be going through the players heads in that kind of situation, what the ramifications are of each outcome. It's really helping me gain a greater appreciation and understanding of the game. Thank you.

I think it's cool to get the longer storylines in games like this

This game was absolutely worthy of a long breakdown. I love baseball!
  • JomBoy takes baseball and makes it even better. Keep up the awesome work!
  • 10:53 Realmuto took a shot to the right arm when Diaz "leaned into the pitch". A little surprised Jomboy didn't call that out as well, but Realmuto didn't seem phased by it.
  • I took Castellanos pulling his jersey up as him saying, “and we won without having to wear buzzers” to the Astros 😂

One of my favorite Maddux stories is that it's near the end of the season and he was facing a hitter he expected to see in the postseason (I forget who, someone whose name I should remember tho). Anyway he lobs a slider over the middle of the plate hoping the hitter will clobber it, which they do. Then in the postseason, when Maddux faced this hitter he never once threw his slider and the hitter went 0-fer.
  • The worst part about Diaz leaning into that ball isn't that it wasn't really that high or inside....but the fact that it careened off of his well padded elbow straight into a really odd part of Realmuto's not padded bicep/forearm. Had to hurt.
  • That game was an all-timer. This postseason has been absolutely ludicrous. I became a fan in '93 as a kid and saw in '08 what a win does for this city. I'm excited for kids to be drawn to baseball by this insane series. I'm pulling for my Phillies so people will be talking about this roster forever.
  • Don't apologize for making a 12 minute breakdown when it's a World Series game, especially a memorable one. We love it.

This is what people who say, "baseball's boring," don't get about the sport. There's the game -- the hits, home runs, strikeouts, great plays. And then there's the game WITHIN the game. Pitch selection, gamesmanship, moving in 20 feet to save the run -- all of it. These kind of nuanced details and mental gymnastics is what makes baseball so great.
  • Pretty cool that Jimmy can do better breakdowns than the broadcast networks can. Any chance Jomboy could do a game live?
  • @KentFPV
One of my favorite videos ever from jomboy, love any breakdown that reaches 6+mins, that's how you know it's good.

Never apologize for a long breakdown. Awesome as always!
  • If this was the first MLB game you ever watched you'd probably become an instant phillies/baseball lifelong fan. can't ask for a better start to a WS
