  • Neat video. The constant push for the advertising is super annoying.

FYI some ghost hsrimps can change color of their carapcedepending on the susbtrate colors and food they get fed. I have seen clear ghost shrimp take on tan and rusty colors helping them blend into leaf litter and hide in plain sight from a figure eight puffer. sometomes they turn greenish too.

Im excited to see more ghost shrimp videos, as a kid my family vacationed at cape cod Massachusetts and we would go to the bay, walk during low tide on sand bars, and enjoy the tide slowly coming in. Well once the water was 2 feet or more we would sit on the shore in the water and feel the shrimp pelting our legs as the waves came in. Its funny cuz you feel a rapid tap tap tap tap tap and you wont see them. All you see is their shadows as they come "flying" outta no where. I went again last year for the first time in 10 years and came across a ton of babies in shells id pluck from the sand. I was so happy to see their numbers on the rise! Thank you for reminding me of that :)

'Orange Disco Vampire Crab' - I've never met a crab before that I've wanted to party with but I'm pretty sure they'd be down!
  • @anthovidal
Good idea. Only problem is that while ghost shrimp will gladly live in freshwater, they need brackish water to actually hatch their eggs and raise the shrimplets. I’ve had many ghost shrimp with eggs but none ever hatch in freshwater.

Most ghost shrimp that you buy from box stores and local shops are actually brackish water shrimp. You will get some breeding but your yields won’t be very good. Just do a neocaridina set up and they will come in all kinds of bright colors. They can be expensive from stores but local breeders can offer great deals.

the substrate without water looks like cookie dough 🤤

These lil shrimps are so cool. We bought 5 cherry shrimp and 5 ghost shrimp, 2 years later there is still 1 ghost left and hundreds of cherry! So cool to see them take over but not kill the fish
  • @mrCetus
Awesome video Christopher. Ghost shrimp are native here in TX. Ours in the ponds we have are very hardy and multiply quick with fast moving planted water.
  • @LegendsAquatics
Love your vids, have you thought of getting a peacock eel for your angel fish tank?
  • @shanemadden2430
feels like these new videos have a smoother flow to them, I like it 🔥
  • @samdhoss
Nice tank. Simple, looks good, great for shrimp. :)

You've promoted your website so many times throughout this video, till the point where I dont even want to take a look at it or come back to this channel. Get better at advertising, repetition is NOT the essence of success.
  • @mikalmos369
I am guessing you already know this but most species of ghost shrimp will only successfully reproduce and raise shrimplets in brackish water, that said I've had the same species reproduce in freshwater but just in much smaller numbers as in like 2 to 10 versus hundreds. Good luck this setup looks simple cheap and pretty despite it being a kiddie pool. Think I might try this for myself with other species of shrimp.
