Defeat Cazador with a Single level 3 Spell and no effort #bg3 #baldursgate3 #baldursgate

When I tried to do this, it messed up the resolution of the non-Ascendant path because, once Astarion stabs him to death, the other spawn are supposed to come down and speak, which lets you choose what to do with the other 7000 spawn (kill or release into Underdark). But with daylight active, that conversation didn't happen because the spawn turn hostile and then flee the area, so you're left by default with having chosen to leave the spawn permanently imprisoned in Cazador's cells.

Did you know you can cheese the fight with a level 3 spell? Yeah it's called haste on a fighter and it's every fight in the game.

I also found on accident that if astarion is in your party and has a mage hand active when cazador traps him at the start of the fight the mage hand does not enter turn based mode and can just shove all of cazadors rienforcements off the edge of the arena

Similarly, you can sneak up on him and cast it directly on cazador himself.

You can also just have the Light of Lathander equipped for similar effect. I accidentally did that to the siblings and had to go back a save 😂😂😂

They fixed this in patch 4. 1 tik of damage will aggro him and start the fight now

I like how in this game daylight actually makes sunlight. Its cammon homebrew in tabletop, but also definitely a good one cause otherwise you're using a 3rd level spell slot for a glorified lantern.

You can also chuck rats at him untill he falls off. Fun times

You used to be able to shove him off the ledge and he would die. The newest patch fixed this because... Welll.... He can fly. I bet it would still work if you polymorph him then throw the sheep off, but I have not tried it since the new Patch

It’s easier just to enchant his staff, wait till he gets to about 20 hp and then trigger the dialogue so Astarion won’t be upset. As soon as the fight starts, yes he has more little more health, but he is also still holding the friggin sun and can’t do much about it. Makes the fight super short when he runs into a corner to stop you from hurting him and doesn’t realize he’s hurting himself.

The more videos I see the more I realized that in my do everything mindset I overleveled so much for some stuff in my first playthrough 😂😂 every big fight like this I just bitchslapped my way through lmao. Didn’t even call any of my reinforcements for the final act and I had literally alllllll of them

Dude. A game changer I found in the fight is having the air myrmidon and casting the raging vortex on the floating sacrificial spawn. Since they are not in initiative it keeps constantly doing bludgeoning damage until they are done. And then next turn you can just move it to cover the next ones. With right placement you can sometimes get 2 at a time which quickly weakens cazador and disrupting the ritual

You can also cast it on a junk item, I used a torch, and just throw it near him.

When I did this fight, it went a little something like this, End shadowheart's turn Oh shit, I should have cast daylight 🙄 Go through the rest of initiative Get back to shadowheart and do something else End shadowheart's turn ...GODDAMMIT

Yeah they patched that I think, I started off the fight like that but fun fact, if you are doing this with Astarion (why wouldn't you) as long as he doesn't go onto the platform Cazador is on, the cut scene never triggers and you don't loose Astarion and have to constantly rescue him from being used as a ritual sacrifice, and instead all the enemy's Cazador included come to you and if you have someone who has either grow spikes or plant growth spell gou can funnel them towards you at a slow pace and if said person also knows an AOE spell the side of grow spikes or plant growth you can hit all enemy's at once

Playing as a cleric and fighting undead is always so satisfying.

I accidentally cheese this fight and it was hilarious. He was is cloud form near the edge. I use eldric blast and push him off. All this happened after hours of me struggling with this fight. The laugh i got afterward was memorable.

I love that the Devs agree that the Wizard of the Coast ruling of this spell is stupid and made Creatures like Vampires suffer from it!
