I feel like Emily is the type of person that always says how badly she performed in a test, but ends up acing them everytime.
  • Opal is the kind of guy that says you could've done better when you tell him you scored a 95% on a test
  • @ghillies4life
Okay, but a 1600 is a perfect score. She literally can't have someone higher than her.
  • @jkslays2418
Michael's shocked face at Kylie, when she scored better than him even though her calculator died had me cackling
  • @Bythwood
Opal is undoubtedly very intelligent, but clearly his interpersonal skills are lacking based on the conversation he had with everyone. Even the girl with a perfect 1600 score wasn’t arrogant.
  • @elilawson949
Honestly props to the chick who got accepted to Berkley but gave it up for community college instead. It's a smart decision to figure your stuff out for cheaper, and I admire that a lot.
  • @ABlackMan9
I think the girl going to Community College also deserves some praise. It can be so easy to get wrapped up in the whole college name game and lose sight of the bigger picture about life after college. As someone whose experienced the debt to actual importance of a college degree ratio I can say that going to a not so prestigious school or comm college can a lot of the time be just as effective (obviously this isn't for all cases and majors)

me, a European, googling wtf SAT & GPA are:
  • @guala6697
Here's how I feel about Opal. I think he genuinely believes what he's saying but I don't think it's very considerate of different situations. I don't hate him as others are saying. And hard work is hard work. But the outcome of hard work is often very different depending on where your starting line is. If a homeless person works very hard they will end up much better off than they would have otherwise and that is true but it is almost a guarantee that someone who is rich that works EQUALLY as hard will climb much much higher because of their access to different opportunities. So yes the statement "hard work is hard work" is true, it's just a little lazy in my opinion.
  • @iredeajala
Opal was very dismissive of how GPA may not always be an indicator of how someone will perform on the SAT + the whole "hard work is hard work" thing. He wasn’t very understanding of ppl’s different circumstances and what may be going on in a person’s life. It sounded like he was speaking from a place of immense privilege.
  • @anayamosby
The fact that opal is premed is scary to me. He completely lacks empathy. He tries to generalize his experience to everybody. Literally the twins went to the same school and the one with the higher GPA got a much lower SAT score so his point on that was invalid. He also completely invalidated peoples experiences just because he was able to be resilient and persevere through his hardships. Not everyone is like him and that doesn't make them any less of a person.
  • @samjama5581
GPA and SAT/ACT scores don't always correlate. My friend had like a 2.7 GPA and like aced her ACT score. Higher than the valedictorian whose GPA was like a 4.4. it honestly depends on if you're a person who does well on standardized tests or not.
  • @igeiwciai
they were actually pretty accurate.. a smart bunch!
  • @juniethegoon
I’m glad Opal wasn’t the top spot bc his views on SATs vs GPA were very privileged. Emily is a such a queen!
  • @fdk9913
Is no one going to take about how Emily took the sat only once and got a 1600 wth
  • @iris201000
Really bro? Opal kept interrupting everyone lmao but its a 'no brainer' that SAT scores are greatly impacted by socioeconomic status. Two students with the same high GPA that come from different SES can have completely different SAT scores because the wealthy student can pay for tutoring or programs to score higher. Its a no-brainer, Opal.
  • @tekqist28
Opal asking why Emily didn't put herself first really shows the difference between them. She's not arrogant or conceited bro. She's intelligent and has emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
  • @nicod337
I love how Carla spoke about her experience with ADHD. Loved the representation.
  • @chloew1326
I love that opal didn’t listen and moved the brother up saying he took 9 when the girl literally took 9 and the boy took 6.. Also moving then up but behind him didn’t make logical sense if they both took more. It just felt like he was itching to make himself first the entire time.
