A tiny baby deer walked right up to people, crying for help. When it became clear that she lost her mom, they brought her to Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary in Ontario. Watch her grow up and run back to the wild with her best friend!

Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary is a volunteer-based charity and is not government funded, they rely on donations from the public to help wildlife in need. You can support them here: thedo.do/woodlands.

This happened to me and my wife in Michigan. We were driving along a woodsy highway and we saw a dead deer at the roadside ahead, and we saw something dart across the grass into the trees. We stopped, and it was a freshly killed doe. And the fawn was hiding in the deep brush at the edge of the woods. We raised that fawn for a month before we could arrange for it to be adopted to a deer farm. That little fawn followed my wife everywhere in and around the house, even up and down stairs.

If I came across a fawn crying like that, there's no doubt I'd become an instant foster for it, too. When it wobbled back for help while crying, geez louise, I wanted to pick it up to rescue it.

There's a special place in Heaven for people that care for animals like this.
  • When he says “Your supposed to be going to your mother” and the deer bumps him with sign of affection is simply priceless
  • I found a baby fawn on the railroad tracks one time! I wouldn't have bothered it BUT it wasn't on the side of the tracks, near the tracks.. it was in between the tracks!! So if a train came it would had been hit! So we put her on the 4wheeler and took her home. We blocked her in my dog house with blankets and hot water bottles. I made a few phone calls and found a lady 30 minutes from my house who would take her because she rehabilitated dear!! Well I checked back about 8 months later and they decided to keep her because she wouldn't leave. She comes in the house and sleeps on the porch sometimes! Her name is PJ (after my late grandma Pauline Jessie) from what I know she's living her best life!!😁❤💕
  • "-...then you know, youve done a good thing." That should be our motivation. In everything.

A huge thank you to those who saved these tiny vulnerable deer. They are such beautiful creatures and we are fortunate to share our planet with them. Peace love and joy to all.

People who care for lost or abandoned animals, especially babies, have a special place in my heart.

The instinct to survive never ceases to amaze me. No mom, no way to take care of itself, no where to go, and so the lil guy pleads with humans (luckily helpful ones willing to help), and survival instincts won in this scenario. Really cool video thanks for sharing.

  • See there are good humans out there, if only everyone was like this

Breaks my heart so many orphans. They are so lucky and so beautiful. May they have a good life
  • It's pretty neat how the baby fawn crying pierces our hearts much like a human baby. Reminds me of the video with a mom playing with her baby on the porch and a deer comes running up thinking its her fawn crying

So thankful people care about these precious beings. They deserve a chance also in life
  • I'm so glad someone was there to help. It's adorable. I was going home late one night and I saw someone ran over a big deer. In an instant I passed by a fawn in the middle of a highway that was in a curve. I u-turned in front of a car almost getting hit. They really got upset when I stopped. When they saw what I had they said "Good thing you did that or we would've killed it. I took it home, kept it warm. Made friends with my dog and we all 3 slept in my bed. Next day I took it to The Genesis Wildlife Rescue here in N.C. Last I heard she has her own babies at an undisclosed wildlife sanctuary. It's a great feeling.

"Where is your mommy?" walks up to human "u" edit: Once you realize, we're probably the friendliest predators on earth, any herbivore can get closer to a not hungry human and most of the time we pet them.
  • When I see something this beautiful, this endless compassion and selflessness to save a baby fawn,I don't think much or even care about an afterlife or heaven. In moments like this heaven actually exists here on earth cause wonderful people like these heroes create it with their love. Seeing this brings a tear to my eye and it really makes me wanna be a better person.
  • God bless all of the living angels who maintain wildlife sanctuaries in the world. They are true heroes. Because of them so many animals can be saved. So I thank god for their wonderful hearts and their facilities. Without these wonderful people there would be no place to rehabilitate animals in need. Zoos can't always do it. People who choose to open and maintain wildlife sanctuaries are very very special people indeed.
