  • 67 cars with 1 engine! I never realized that was a E&LS building!
  • Think that's the longest ELS train I've seen yet. And especially with just a single locomotive. Very impressive. 67 freight cars long!😮
  • Jason, you're one cool cookie for staying out of the sun. Thanks for sharing. 👍
  • @crlaw75
    Impressive train with one locomotive.

Back in the late 1990's and 2000's, the museum for which I volunteered ran a commuter operation to the Indiana State Fair. Engines were F/FP-7, then GP-7/9. Cab temps in the F units reached 110, but were slightly cooler in the Geeps. We didn't care--we were volunteers who qualifed as crew to run trains over a line connected to the general rail system. At least 15 road crossings within the cities of Indianapolis and Fishers.
  • Thanks for filming. What a long train! Can you imagine if you were waiting for the ambulance or fire department stuck on the other side of the tracks?
  • That's amazing Jason, one because the train was so long, and second, because you were standing out in 92 degrees to film it; still seems one hell on a train for one engine!
  • Wouldn't have thought 502 had it in her. Great video. Hopefully it won't be defunded by YouTube due to your discussion of your sweat.
  • I saw comments of 67 cars. If I recall there have been longer trains of 80+. Nice to stand under a shade tree while that long slow train passed by. Go get a nice cold lemonade 🍋!! 👍🇺🇲
  • Great to see such a long train on this line. Stay cool.
