Video games set in World War 2 are plentiful for the First Person Shooter genre and yet, Pandemic Studio's made the era new and refreshing. The Saboteur is a game I remember playing at release but I don't have any specific memories towards the game other than the basics. So, that brings us to now. I've replayed the game, with a now adult brain and the question is, how does The Saboteur hold up almost 11 years later? Let's find out!

There's nothing like The Saboteur on the market. The artstyle, the time period, the music, the gameplay, the progression. It's a masterpiece. So sad we'll never get a second game -.-

"Begins with this video getting demonetized" lmaoo Your story summation is so good on this game. I think more games need to play on color palette mechanics, it seems so satisfying to just blow some stuff up and bring life back to an area

A quick thank you to It's WuB for the game suggestion! I had an absolute blast revisiting The Saboteur and I hope one day we see this concept attempted again because there is something special here! Stay safe and much love to you all 🙏
  • I never went around to play the Saboteur but I was always curious about those black and white footage I saw around, glad you covered it! It's a pity that such an original idea will be always linked to the death of a studio

That's dope that the colour palette (or lack of) plays a part onto the gameplay/story. I always wanted to play this game because the tone looked interesting. So glad you made this one.

When I was a kid I would get the ole GameInformer magazine and saw a whole article about The Saboteur pre-release. It really hyped me up to play it. I've actually recently replayed it on my PC and I must say, it's aged well. It's open world gameplay brings some current gen games to shame and the tone of the whole thing is fantastic. I still remember the tunes on the car radio to this day.

I miss this studio SO much my dude 💔
  • Really had a lot of fun with this game. Hopefully it can be rediscovered for a new game launch. I think can really bring serious media attention and can be a huge sale

Just another reason to hate EA, closing down such a great studio.

When you said it's been 11 years since this game came out it hit me right in the feels. Makes me feel like an old man lol. I had extremely fond memories of this game because of how unique it was and back then I absolutely loved open world games like this. The stealth, parkour and colour use are without a doubt my favourite parts about it. They really stuck with me. I always wanted a sequel but that'll never come :( I actually didn't realise Pandemic made Battlefront and Destroy All Humans - once again staples of my childhood. Great video my friend!

just discovered your channel, amazing content, and loved seeing this game getting some attention

Got this in my watch list for when I wake up tomorrow! Coffee and this - Perfect morning :) I’ll report back when I’ve watched my man
  • Wow another great review man ! I remember playing this with a buddy of mine having one of those all night got to beat it sessions back in the day . I don’t know if anyone else saw the connection but the black and white colors always reminded me of schindlers list and that whole aesthetic. Also if you wanted a suggestion for a review idea or just something to play for yourself I wanted to recommend you check out Stubbs the Zombie :Rebel without a Pulse I feel like it was lost to time nowadays but it’s truly worth checking out just for the awesome soundtrack if nothing else !

Pandemic games made some BANGERS! Saboteur was my favorite game for quite some time regardless of its flaws.
